We are needing to purchase some boots to be used for a horse that has been diagnosed with laminitis. He normally goes without shoes. The boots will be used during his recovery time. Would like opinions on what brand to purchase? Thanks for your input.

Easy boots made for riding and you can add a soft cushion to the inside. Leave on or take off as needed.there is a scale to measure the hoof so you know what size to get.

Soft Ride all the way for any type of recoup procedure. They also have specific inserts for laminitis.
Good luck!

I have a mare that was just diagnosed with laminitis on her front right foot just last week. She has 10 degs of rotation. Its a club foot and we think she may have had a bad abbscess at one point or its from some trauma. Not sure since we have only had her since October. Anyways our vet recommended the soft rides with the laminitic insert. I have a set of the easy boot rx for another horse for stalling and they are nice... but the soft rides have a better insert for this type of thing. Good luck!

The Soft Rides also come with a standard insert that you can use for everyday suport, trailering, etc after you get them through the laminitis episode ...
Soft Rides also have a great market for re-sale if that is ever needed as well.

I have both and use both. Love the soft rides for hauling but I find they don't hold up for turn out. We went thru several sets last year at my place... made husband real happy to see a $250 pair of boots hanging off a horse :s
Love love love my easyboots for turn out. They stand up to even our Canadian winters and I think the horses like that they are lighter as well.
