I am saddle shopping again for a new or used saddle for my newer horse. I love my coats but don't want to wait 8 months for another one. I have heard good things about shilohs and they seem to be really affordable and their time for 4 is about 4 months out right now. Please left me if you like /dime and why. Thx

Loved my Wright saddle made by Shiloh. It was so comfortable to ride in and kept right where I like - on my seat bones not my pockets. Only thing I hated was the short horn. Nine times out of ten I would miss it. I never could adjust, but I am woefully unathletic. My daughter won't ride anything else. In the future I would like to order one with a higher horn.

Tried a Kim Thomas, loved it. Fit everything I put under it. Super comfortable! And for the $! I'd love to own one!

I think they have the best over all groundseat in them. To me they almost ride like a cutter. But they are typically lower in the front end, it is not just a short horn. I did try a contender once and it wasnt as balanced IMO- the cantle is so high that it tilted me forward.
I have had likely 15 or more of them from the Ed Wrights to the Jerri Mann to the Betty Roper and Kim Thomas, I liked them all. But overall my experience is they are a more narrow fit on the tree which is why I keep selling them. Love them for me but not for my horse.

I believe a taller horn would have fixed my problems because I would hit the top of the horn with the heel of my hand. You would think it would be an easy adjustment to make but my mare was front endy and I was never comfortable riding that type of horse.

You can have them made with the taller horn... and a shorter cantel....Stacy will custom them to how you want.

I have a Contender and a Finalist.  Love them both.  Very balanced ride with close contact which I love.  I don't feel like my contender throws me forward, to me it is balanced and very easy to keep my legs up underneath me.

I've had a contender and loved it!  No longer have the horse that I ran in it, but it was an awesome saddle.....other than what I ride now, it's my all time favorite.  Sold it to cover some vet bills... :-/  Someday I'm sure I'll buy another one.  Very well made, just a nice balanced saddle.  I'm down to one horse and she's tough to fit, I had to have a saddle made specifically for her.  The Shiloh fit a variety of horses very well, just didn't work on her.
