Location: Southern Oregon | He does have the x ray machine in his office, but with my insurance it would cost almost double out of my pocket to have him do them over having my regular doctor do them. He explained it all too me, trying to save me money. He is a great guy. He used some sort of vibration machine to detect any possible breaks or fractures before getting to involved. He did alleviate some of my hip pain and he also did some shock therapy to my muscles to try and confuse them as to where the pain was. He said it was only a quick fix so I might be able to sleep, but I am already in pain again.

Location: Southern Oregon | Me too.... I am dying over her. My attitude has gone extremely down hill, just got my mare working good again. ugh it's always something. I think I will have to recruit my niece to work my mare while I am still down. |

Location: The stix of Utah | I came off of a horse about 12 years ago and messed up my tailbone pretty badly. At the time, I had just moved out of my parents house and was trying to do everything on my own. I never went to the doctor. I was in the worst pain of my life for a couple of weeks. I waited out the pain and went on with my life. A couple of years ago I started getting intense pain in my tailbone again. I was in pain daily! I am like you and never would take anything until the pain got to be too much. I went to an orthopedic surgeon who started me out with injections which did NOTHING! After weeks of more intense pain I was referred to a spine specialist who after looking at my X-Rays commented that he was surprised I was even able to stand upright. He got me in for surgery right away. Best decision of my life! This was last November and I can actually ride again. Yay!! If you don't feel like your doctor is listening to your problems, go to a different doctor. Ask your doctor to refer you to a specialist or even call your insurance and see if they require a referral to an orthopedic doctor. If not, find the best doctor you can and get it checked out thoroughly. Your tailbone is nothing to mess around with. Good luck! I know your pain all too well and wouldn't wish it on anybody! |

| I had a bad snowboarding wipeout, and landed HARD on my tailbone on pure ice, I couldn't sit or sleep for a week. I moved like a 90 year old, and literally bawled when I sneezed, sleeping was the worst. I was miserable sitting around so I decided to ride day two, bending over to pick hooves and put on boots was probably the worst. I saddled just fine, and rode just like normal, I'm not the type of rider that sits on my butt a lot, I post at a trot, and don't pound my butt in the saddle. I did ride a little funny though, and stood up in the saddle for a hard stop, and only really lightly came down in the saddle while posting. It doesn't hurt as bad as you would think. Bending down to sit on the couch hurts 20 times worst then riding. Sadly that happened in December, and it still hurts sometimes. |

Location: Southern Oregon | I went to the doctor today, hoping for answers since she is about 40 mins from my house. After treating me pretty rudely she sent me for xrays. After the xrays she said she would get back to me on the results and asked if I REALLY need some pain pills. ugh in a rude snotty voice. Um ya I do, I have been in horrid pain for several weeks and having a heck of a time sleeping. Then she questioned my sleeping habits. The other thing that concerned me about her being my doctor, the nurse had to take my BP twice because it was so high this morning. I was in a lot of pain last night and I woke up got dressed and drove to the doctor. I personally think it was high from being in pain? My doctor didn't even say a word about my BP being so high. She did prescribe me Tylenol 3's .....I questioned her on it, mainly because I am allergic to codine and it is listed in my charts. She got snotty with me AGAIN and told me that EVERYONE gets sick on codine....well ya but not everyone breaks out in a fully body rash and goes to sleep and can't be woke up. ugh...... WTH ever! I am sooooo over this. I just want answers. I called at 1pm about the x ray results and they said they would call me soon. Called again at 5:30pm and they told me they MIGHT have the info for me tomorrow afternoon or monday. I just want to cry, heck I have been. I am mentally and physically exhausted over all of this. I JUST WANT TO RIDE!!!!! or sleep or sit or drive my car, but mainly RIDE |

Location: Opelousas, LA | Is there any way you can get your x-ray results forwarded to another doctor? Sorry you were treated so bad, sucks to not be taken seriously when you finally break down and ask for some help because you are in pain. I hope you get some answers and some relief soon. |

| Yep I understand your frustration with doctors. I had the same kind of doctor except instead of getting snotty, he did the condescending tone with me. I changed doctors. It is getting really hard to find competent doctors. I trust my Gyno, chiro and TCM doctor way more than my regular dr. It sounds like you need to find a new doc, too. It is inexcusable to be treated the way you are being treated. I know it's a pain, but maybe you should go to the ER. |

Oh no I am so sorry, I really understand what your feeling. I would never use her again, I would be going to someone that cares and want to help me. Prayers for someone that will find the cause of pain for you now |

Location: Southern Oregon | Dislocated tail bone, ugh She said she isn't sure how I have even been sitting on it for the past three weeks. She sent the info over to my chiro, and is going to have him try to adjust it before they do anything more invasive. I am planning on Doctor hunting after this, I will not be treated like crap. |
