Have only owned 1 GN trailer (Shadow 3 horse) but looking for a LQ trailer now. So many different brands, any feedback pro/cons on your trailer? Nice to get a slide for more room but not sure if the extra cost would jusifiy it if there is a big cost. Thanks

I would look at the top 3 consistent Trailer Brands: 4 Star, Elite, Platinum.

Do you have a price point? I always use that as a starting point and then decide from there based on what is in my price range. I ended up with a really nice older LQ for $24K.

We have a 4Star. There is NOTHING about it I'd change. Extremely user friendly, impeccable quality, and rides well for the horses. I absolutely love it.

Stay away from Exiss and Bison. They are cheap and a million for sale for a reason.

I had a 2015 Bison custom built by NRS in Decatur and nothing cheap about it..it's great quality and pulls like a dream..it's a 3h with 8 ft sw..you can customize em any way you want and while I think Bison used to have a bad name they were bought by Coach who isthe #1 rv sales company in the country and their quality is nothing to shake your finger at....for the price and quality I am 200% satisfied with mine. If they were cheap or bad quality I can assure you NRS would not be selling them...

The best constructed are Platinum, Elite, 4Star, Sundowner, and Featherlite.  You can spend a lot on the interior.  It depends on what you want on and in the trailer.

Sundowner and featherlite the new ones are not in the same quality category as the elite.

My cousin has a brand new sundowner and the brace in the back stall broke into two, and the centre gate she has the welds busted off.

I also know of someone who owns a featherlite, hers was only 2 yrs old before the entire floor busted out

Sundowner and Featherlite, even the older ones that were well made trailers, are not in the same category as Platinum, Elite, etc.  I had 93 and 98 Featherlites and they were not as nice as the 99 Sundowner (that I pulled for 14 years), and it was not as nice as the "top shelf" brands.

When I was shopping, the trailers on my list were Platinum, older Bloomer, 4 Star, Elite, Hart, or Cimarron.  I ended up with a Cimarron and am 100% happy with it.

Sundowner and Featherlite belong in the category with Exiss. They shouldn't even be mentioned in the same paragraph as Elite. The only thing they have in common with Elite is that they are trailers.

I won't name drop but my '95 Elite trailer has had four different world champions use it during the rush making the NFR, over the 4th and NW runs. That trailer has been all over the N. Am.- its still used today.

No mangers, no frills just heavy duty for comfort of horses.
