I have a 7" gullet crown c on my horse that is recently leaving these dry spots on both sides. They are about 4-5" long and 3" tall. Do you think it's small enough to worry about? I would go to a bigger gullet but it pops up in the back.
Also, I'm using a 3/4" 5 star with it

May also help to post a picture of the saddle on, with and without the pad. I'd say they are big enough to worry about...

Lived to tell about it and will never do it again

What I've read about saddle fit from makers is that the bigger the dry spot the better, it means that the saddle is dispersing the pressure the correct way. The smaller like half dollar size means that it is pinching in one small area causing soreness.

One of my mares was doing that with my wide cactus. I bought a THE CORRECTOR pad and just use the first shim in the front. Now i get an even sweat pattern.

I had dry spots like that and they were causing problems. My gelding was telling me too though. You could try a 1/2" and see if it's better or not; if it's tight with 3/4" a 1/2" might be better? It might also be the shape of the tree.

Looking at your horse you would need a flat tree, not their regular one.
The regular tree has too much rock in the bars and this is why a larger saddle is popping up in the back.
I would also say you would need to go bigger as by the spots your saddle is on the shoulder, and crown c is designed to go behind the shoulder.
It also looks like your horse is getting a bit of atrophy where the dry spots are this is also a sign the saddle is pinching the horse

First, take a good picture from the side with the horse standing square and HEAD NOT DOWN, please. Head forward and relaxed. Then add saddle without a pad and not cinched and let's take a good look at what's going on. Set it where you normally ride and then we can discuss it! :
) The wrong picture, can give you a false sense of what may be going on. How long have you been riding in that saddle, too?
