Extreme Veteran Posts: 502	My horse(s) came in from turnout covered in welps about two weeks ago(on one side of his body). I thought it was allergies. Or maybe ants. Now, two weeks later it has happened again. The problem is that these "hives" actually form a scab and then become a sore. One of my geldings is covered under his stomach, on the shoulder, hip, with sores. What is this?

Elite Veteran Posts: 639 Location: God's country...aka TEXAS	This also happens to my horse a few times a year during the spring. I don't think its flies either. He either lays in something or its something in the air. I usually would just give him dex to treat it for a the few times. Now I just have him on a daily pellet for skin allergies and he hasn't had anymore issues.
