Β Just got a new saddle that fits my horse better.I am used to riding in a rough out saddle and this one is smooth. Are there any tricks to make the seat and jockeys more sticky.Edited for terrible spelling on a new phone with autocorrect!

So glad u posted this! I'm in the same boat. My saddle is fully tooled w ostrich seat. I have thought bout rosin or roughing out the part between seat and fender even tho will take away from saddle. But I gotta do something!

There is a spray sticky stuff that English riders use...it used to come in an orange spray can...not sure what its called but it really is sticky and is specifically for saddles.

When I was riding jumpers I used this rub on stuff called Sadl-Tite. There are some sprays too. Easy to use stuff and it doesn't damage your tack or clothing....stays on for quite some time too. I used to put it on my saddle and tall hunt boots.

I second the Sadl-Tite. They have it at Dover's it just won't let me add a link.

 Sport Haft spray

Julie (PHTmagnetics) turned me on to it! Works well and cleans off easily from smooth leather. I didn't use it on tooling but I would imagine it would come off from that just as easily.
