Subject: Aluminum stirrups

I've never used aluminum stirrups. I got a new circle y roper saddle and the rawhide stirrups that came on it kill the inside above the ball of my foot. So thought I would try some twisted aluminum stirrups. Do your boots slip on the aluminum or should I get some wrapped with leather on the bottom? This is for my roping saddle.
