I'm a little confused on shimming. I bought a saddle and its a little wide in the gullet for my mare but fits pretty good other than that. What thickness of pad do you use with your saddle if you need to shim? I know you can buy different thickness of shims but was not sure what to do about the pad. I tired and 1" pad and the thicker pad would make it pop up in the back a little and a 1/2'' just isn't thick enough. I like wool pads though and the 1" was CE Contourpedic pad.
