I used Crest toothpaste too on a horse the wart was on her shoulder where the fly sheet and blanket would rub. It really works took about 4 weeks to completely remove and much cheaper than the vet. I learned of the toothpaste from BHW too.
I may have been the one who recommended it

Location: Woodstown, NJ | Someone on here told me to use tea tree oil. They warned me to keep putting it on. I was scared at a certain point because the sarcoid got angry looking and I read about them spreading and getting worse but I trudged through because Barrel Horse girls know their stuff and lo and behold, it disappeared and never came back. It's been about five years. Knock wood. |

I have a broodmare with a sarcoid above her eye. Not really pleasant looking. My vet said to leave it alone unless it gets worse or ulcerates. She said most of the time if you are treating them, especially with 'home remedies' they do ulcerate then the sarcoid spreads or gets much much worse. So we just leave it alone.
A feed through something like lysine might be worth trying since this is not a direct application though. Most treatments I know involve creams and treatments that are quite expensive and very difficult.
do u think it can be a genetic thing? i have a mare with one as well and wasnt sure about using her for broodmare......just curious?
I asked and there was enough speculation that no one could be exactly sure. I decided to breed. If I see too many problems, I probably won't continue though. I did ask my repro vet her advice and she seemed to think it would be okay. |

Location: Oklahoma & Texas | Feed em omegahorseshine...in 30 days I saw a huge difference in my geldings just by coincidence as it was only change I had made after vet said not to mess with em (he had 2) unless they caused a problem...anyway after about 60 days they were almost gone and around 90 days completely gone...they've never come back ..i can see the faint outline in his hair where they once were but it's been 4+ years and never came back..i still feed the omegahorseshine too! |

| I was in Wal-Mart this afternoon so I bought some Crest Toothpaste to have when I was ready to start putting it on my horse. Do you have any idea how many kinds of Crest there is! I bought the Crest for cavity protection regular paste, hope that is the right stuff. All the other kinds had all sorts of things listed. |

Glad it worked well for you. I have a huge gray gelding with one that I banded last month. It fell off yesterday clean as a whistle. I had been using several different oils on it as my oil knowlege has grown lots in the last three years. Turmeric is becoming my favorite. |

Where was it located at and what did it look like? Mine looks like it could be banded easily enough with those little green bands. |

His boy parts! I had to hold it as my husband put the band on. So glad, the oils did their part as well. |

Mine is on his belly, looks like a wart and about the size of a quarter. Did you band and then still put the oils on daily? |

Yes, we banded as close to the root as we could then I proceeded to put oils on every other day. Yours may release sooner with daily application. |
