Has anyone had a horse with this mix?
I just put a deposit on a weanling filly, her sire is grandson of Frenchmans Guy, and her dam is daughter of Playgun.
She looks to be nicely put together, and I got a smoking deal as the farm was downsizing on a lot of horses.

I personally like playgun horses, in our area, there is an own son of playgun who is kicking butt and is a 1D stallion. I'd take one in a heartbeak especially with FG on papers as well

I'm a huge fan of Playgun horses. That should be an interesting cross with unlimited potential. If they have more Playguns for sale
(not necessarily FG
) post some contact information or PM me please.

I'd be excited about the dam being an own daughter of Playgun. The Frenchman's Guy is too far back to really count much.

HUH??? to far back to count much? Oh boy...I wholeheartedly disagree with that statement. The entire horse lineage counts in my opinion.

I have a Playgun granddaughter and I am

Thanks all! I've heard good things about Playgun bred horses, would be interesting to see if there's this same mix out there. :
)
They have a couple more weanlings out of the same sire, but no more out of Playgun mares.

This is not always true. A horse can be 1654651561 generations back and still pass on genetic disorder. So why can't they pass on one of their good traits too. I agree that every generation back increases the chance of all traits being lost as only 50% of the foal is from each parent. To me it really depends on whether the whole pedigree is good or if someone was just shotgun breeding without regard to what the horses have to give. I would have to see the rest of the pedigree. I like both FG and Playgun horses but I don't know about the cross. I think a LOT of turn in that cross. Good luck with your new horse.
