What crosses good on a mare that is Bugs Alive in 75 bred mare on the sire's side?

So your mare is by a son of Bugs Alive? He was a broodmare sire above all else, but if I had to take a pick, I would go with a Fire Water Flit stud. That always seemed to be a good cross on him and his sons.

I agree with the FWF recommendation. I would, however, take a close look at both your mare's and the potential stallion's feet. From both personal experience and what I've heard others say, this cross can sometimes have foot issues.

I have had a couple of granddaughters of BA75 and have crossed them on Rare Bar, Desirio, Flit To Kill, Leaving Memories, Chasin Firewater, and Letta Hank Do It. They have all had excellent temperaments and great personalities. Conformationally they were all a little different, but were all put together nicely. All were easy to start and great to get along with, very friendly.

Someone please cross their BA75 mare with a Three Ohs stud and send me the baby!!! I've been looking for one for a while... My 21 y/o is a grandson of both studs and has more heart and try than any horse I've ever owned. Plus, he's beautiful and huge, and I just love him.
(He also has horrible feet....... But I'd still take another just like him!)

It's hard to find BA75 granddaughters. I had 3 at one time, but I've only got one left. And unfortunately she won't carry anymore. But I'd sell you an embryo! I have two of her daughters, and one of her sons is still intact, and I also have another great-granddaughter from a different mare.

We have a 26 year old BA75 bred gelding, and he sounds a lot like your guy. He's the reason I went on the hunt for granddaughters to use as broodmares.

I have a daughter of Blushing Bug(by BA75). I wanted to know what crossed best on those mares so I pulled the equistat report on him as a broodmare sire. Blushing Bug's most successful cross was on DTF, not surprising, but he had quite few money earners crossed on other stallions. So I looked them up to see if there was any common lineage and they all had Jet Deck up close.

So far out of this mare I have a 5yo by a Streakin Six/Truckle Feature, a 2yo Guys Easy Jet, 1 yo Firewater Ta Fame and a JL Sirocco baking in the oven. All the colts are extremely athletic but the GEJ is by far the best looking colt we've put on the ground.

I have one, out of the #5 producing daughter of BA75 Leavem Lucille.

they crossed her on Shawne Bug to make Levin Lucille and Reckless Dash to make Lucy Lucille and my mare Reckless Lucy.

I have bred my mare to first down french and have really been happy with that foal. I would love to breed her to Dash Ta Fame.

They bred Levin Lucille to Born Ta Be Famous, A Streak of Fling, FWF, Dash Ta Fame, and Frenchmans Guy.

To the OP, what else is in your mare's pedigree? Also, how is she built. I think that will definitely play a big part in what a good cross would be. Like I mentioned earlier, the ones that I raised are all put together nicely, but a little differently. My LHDI is a very thick girl and a little longer made, she's in the 15.1-.2 range but well over 1350lbs. My Rare Bar is over 16 hands and very thick, but not as long as the Hank mare. My Chasin Firewater is much shorter, more compact, and more refined than any of the others. The only one I have a picture of on my phone is the Desirio. This is a picture of him prior to his first out this past May, he's a 2 year old. (Let's see if I'm smart enough to upload it!)

My granddaughter of BA75 in about 14.3hh and built like a tank. Her dam's side is mainly roping bloodlines. Would like something in the 15.1-15.2 range. But, she has the BA75 butt.

Our old guy is a grandson of Go For Bugs on the top side. He gave 100% in everything he did, whether that be roping, running barrels, or just walking down the road!

Anything else you'd like to change or improve on your mare? That would help with some suggestions. Also, are you looking for resale or planning to keep the foal for yourself? So many variables! And honestly, I think your options are pretty open where you've got the run crossed on cow.

One of my granddaughters was by a cowbred stud. She only raised 1 foal for us, a filly by Flit To Kill. The mare was built like a bulldogging horse, but her filly had a lot of height. We sold her as a 2 year old and she was probably already 15 hands and last I heard had grown quite a bit taller. My LHDI's dam was BA75 on the top side and out of a Harlan bred mare.
