how many of you have used or would use a magna wave at a big show?

Thoughts?

Did you feel it helped your horse?

I have tried it. I believe it does help loosen them up and get them moving freer. But, for the cost and the short lenght of time it benefits... not worth it to me. I think you can do other stuff on your own and save money.

I did because my vet recommended it. I'm not sure I am sold. I could definately see the skin twitch where my horse was sore.

What do you mean your not sure your sold? Did you feel it didn't help your horse with stiffness or overall soreness?

Do ya'll feel its as effective as a salt water bath?

So at a large week long or 3-4 day show you don't feel it would be effective to use of say your treatments were $50 a horse?

I actually had it done on myself at a show and it made me so tired afterwards I went to my trailer and took a 2 hour nap. It felt like a strong pull and pulse especially where I get sore on my shoulder blade. But the next day I felt better. I probably would not use it before a run but after.

See I've never done my horse at a show but I've done him before chiro treatments to loosen the mucles up so the adjustment would "hold." I've never thought about it making one tired. I've done it on myself a few times with no affect other than it helping relieve soreness from an accident.

Its big in other industries at shows but no one has really done it for barrels yet....

This is what I did, however the reason I am not "sold" is it was around $60 and I couldn't tell that it helped the chiro treatment hold or not - I just really couldn't see any difference using it. I sure don't think it's harmful in any way, just not sure it did any good either.

I've seen it help injuries heal in mine and others but I just didn't know how ppl felt about using it at a show. Its definitely an after run therapy IMO

They don't recommend using on a horse for the first time right before you run.  Horses react differently.  It relaxes some and energizes some.
Some horses will be really relaxed right after and work better than ever the next day.

I have had such amazing results using it on my horses, my husband and myself that I just bought one.

I have a horse rehabbing from a fall. Hard tight painful muscles were a secondary issue. Was told to try magnawave on him and I was quite impressed. His neck and shoulders were hard as rocks, after one single treatment he was so soft and supple. As far as healing I couldn't really tell you, but I was quite impressed with how relaxed his muscles were after. I would say it is certainly an after race treatment.

Should be done at least four hours out unless you want to relax horse.
Think of it as a deep tissue massage and then you're running a marathon. Nope.
