my gelding has one shoulder lower than the other. What kind of saddle pad do you ride them in to help with the unevenness? Or what do you do to keep the saddle straight?

Your horse needs Chiropractic help to put the other shoulder back into position. Once the is done they should be even again. Do you have problems with leads at this time? It is because of the shoulder. Massage and bute till you can have the horse chiro-ed.

I agree his shoulders need to be adjusted.

Then you need to look at his feet, my guess he is unbalanced. I would measure the angle to ensure both feet are the same. I would also measure the length of toe to make sure they are even. And I would use a level on the heels to ensure the heels are level.

I agree in looking at feet first and then maybe muscle tone. Is there anyplace a spasm or loss of muscle has occurred (maybe from bad saddle fit has occurred? If its not something like that, I'd be talking to a vet to make sure it was a true conformational issue (maybe xray). If it was I think a carefully shimmed pad or custom designed one might be in order to ride. I'd be careful of asking too too much as well so the horse didn't get sore.

He has been adjusted and his feet are balanced. He picks his leads up fine too.

He doesn't happened to be a little club footed or anything is he? When you stand in front of him do his joints on each leg match up? I am only asking because we had a gelding that was just a tad bit club footed, his joints matched up so we just had to make sure his hooves were trimmed taking into consideration the clubbiness. If we didn't, he certainly was unevened in the shoulders.
