Here is a question for all of you. I am interested in the success and your guys thoughts on Mr. Shawnee Bug/Shawnee Bug breeding for barrel horses?

I have a super minded and well built broodmare (own daughter of Mr. Shawnee Bug), is the reason I am inquiring. I love learning about breeding and bloodlines. Thanks!

Shawnee Bug is a leading broodmare sire of barrel horses.  Cross her on a Firewater Flit stud and you should get a nice baby....  My pick would be Firewater Canyon, just because I would want to see what she would have, lol.  He's FWF and out of Mulberry Canyon Moon who is a legend herself.

MSB is not too bad. Of course its always great if you can get an own daughter but they are rare and hard to find. The top crosses on SB are Firewater Flit, Dash ta Fame, and Bully Bullion. Feature Mr Jess, Panama Edition, Letta Hank Do It and Frenchman's Guy are also in the top crosses. I'd breed to one of these studs if you could afford it but a son of would be the next place I'd be looking. Is the mare proven?

Thanks, Rachel. I am crossing her on "Iam In Command" ;) The first foal out of the cross looks great.

You know I love versatile horses...and that sounds like one that should be able to run barrels or go rope steers
