Location: Piedmont, OK | I have used all 3 at Oakridge and they are all great at what they do - especially lameness. I have heard really good things about Dr. Hood at OCEC. I use Dr. Gragg at OCEC for all reproductive work as he is the best in the state. |

Location: Tuttle Oklahoma | I use Sam Crosby in arcadia. He is a great soundness vet and always takes time to explain and answer questions. You never feel like your being rushed out the door. |

| Usually " Best" and " Reasonably priced" don't go hand in hand. LOL Its like saying " Where can I get a cheap brand new Mercedes". You get what you pay for and you have to pay for the best. |

His office wasn't sure when they would be able to reschedule and with my work schedule the following weeks, I had to do something else. I have heard great things about Dr White though and would have loved to be able to use him. Unfortunately, I only had a few select days to be able to take my mare and I just couldn't wait!!
Dr. White's wife passed away Tuesday night from a brain aneurism. Please keep him and the rest of her friends and family in your prayers. |

Good luck, and I hope they are able to help. They have so many diagnostic tools, but what they can see with just trotting one around is amazing. I'm sure you will, but be sure to go outside and watch them (assuming they're doing a lameness evaluation! ). Ive learned so much from watching them do this. Top-notch facility! Let us know how your appointment goes.
My appointment went well and Dr. Hague is super nice!! I was very pleased with the service and everyone was wonderful. I am hopeful that my mare will be good in a couple weeks. After a thorough exam, blocking and x-rays, we hope we found the soundness issue. Time will tell!! I would go there again in a heartbeat and recommend them for anyone!! Thank you all for your recommendations :) |

I've used Dr. Hague at Oakridge for years and he is the Best in my opinion. They are 3 hours from me. I had a bad experience with another vet at Oakridge last month, he was the weekend call in vet.
My filly (2yo) got a nasty cut on her hind leg that I'd been taking care of with the help from my local vet and she started getting a temp. She had been on PenG from Tuesday when I found her hurt. The temp progressively got worse and by Sat morning it was at 104.2. I took her straight to Oakridge. She had the begining stage of pneumonia and it was obvious Dr. On Call did not want to be there. I called Dr. On Call that evening (4:30pm) and asked how my girl was doing. I got a lot of mumbling. Dr. On Call called me Sunday morning to say that her temp had spiked during the night and she now had fluid around her lungs, they were going to treat her and said she wasn't helping them by not eating and was "FEELING SORRY FOR HERSELF". 4 hours later Dr. On Call called to tell me they found her dead in her stall.
When I went up there to get her paper work they only took her temp 2 times that day after I dropped her off. Her temp spiked to 105.1 at 3pm and was writen up that she seemed uncomfortable and refused to rise and they called Dr. On Call. They took it again that night around 9pm. They did give her bute and banamine, but didn't ice her down or spray her with alcohol to help her cool off. He said Pnemonia killed her.
Even though Dr. Hauge has my total trust and respect, I will now take my horses else where and I will ask if I ever drop a horse off with a temp how often it will be taken. |

I'm sorry about your experience. I use Oakridge primarily for lameness issues. If I have an issue where my horse will need to be monitored frequently my local vet sends me to the state university. They have students who will be there at all times. I've recently dealt with pneumonia. My mare was very sick, and did not go down like your horse. She did have a very high temperature and went off feed, but she never went down. She was very sick. But they did not keep her at the clinic and sent her home, which meant 8 hours in the trailer in one day. I would wonder if there was something else also going on with your horse for her to go down so quickly. Again, I'm sorry for your loss and for your bad experience. |
