I can see her standing toe-to-toe with foreign leaders and having their respect -- they would know in no uncertain terms that she is rock solid and has done her homework. I do like Carson. Hmmmmm---- Carly + Ben.
That's what I said earlier. Fiorina/Carson would be interesting, I think. |

Location: Where I am happiest | I thought Rubio was outstanding!! The only thing wrong with Ben Carson is he is no speaker and that will hurt him.He needs to be more commanding. Trump is standing up and saying what the American people are feeling and voicing their frustration but in all reality, he's great right now but when it comes down to it, he is un-elictable.We cant have a president spouting off with stupid attacks and statements like he does. Great for jobs and the economy here, but a complete train wreck on foriegn affairs and he would get us in trouble. Come election time, the media will chew him up and spit him out and will make what they did to Palin look like childs play. Cruze was a bit creepy in this debate with the way he would pause, and look into the camara. It was just weird. I think Rubio was the only one who displayed the total package and I believe he is going to rise to the top of the polls.

Already the expectations of Trump differ from anyone else. He's really stirred the pot and people love that he's beholding to nobody. He is really the only one on the stage who can spout off about special interests without looking like a hypocrite. So far he's gotten away without demonstrating nuance or specifics. He held his own. That's all he probably needs at this point. His comments on vaccines and autism tell me he has the potential to be dangerous. Carly was sharp as a tack. I actually like how she responds to critics on her HP tenure. Tom Perkin's endorsement is a pretty powerful message, since he was an HP power broker who was one of the forces behind her departure from HP. Basically, he admits it was a big mistake at the time: http://www.foxbusiness.com/business-leaders/2015/08/31/carly-fiorin... Ben Carson just solidified his image as a calm, thoughtful, well informed man who exudes competence, while demonstrating humility at the same time. He did very well, and his story is incredibly powerful. Rubio didn't dissappoint me at all. He never has. He reminds me of JFK in some ways. The rest all had a few good moments. Nobody really "bombed". WELL SAID about Trump and his opinion on vaccinations. FREAKY SCARY! You nailed it with Dr. Ben Carson! LOVE LOVE LOVE him. Rubio is a wise old soul with authority. I am mesmerized by his delivery and assurance. I do really like him. Carly makes me nervous. Not a fan. Her approach is too prepared and memorized. When is being prepared a bad thing?
I loved that she had a precise, researched answer for every question. Much better than some of the fumbling around or just complete silence on some of the topics from the other candidates.
Being prepared is critical, it goes hand in hand with reaching goals. but I believe you also have to have the gift of impromptu speaking. She isn't running for a CEO position again. I know a lot of what comes out of the candidates mouth is studied and prepared, but IMO she looked like an actress. She is strong woman, I give her that. Absolutely. I would like to actually watch the wheels turn in her head.
Her response to Trump's insulting her face/persona had to be impromptu, because she could not have predicted the order of the questions or what the questions/Trump and Bush's responses would be.Â
I will tell you I did miss the first hour and probably the "impromptu" moments. My husband said she slammed down some awesome statements (his onion) I personally cant stand methodical speaking/list words. She made me roll my eyes once when she started rattling off how many pieces of war equipment we need. She has a lot of history that weighs her down. I too agree a woman should not be president. JMO and a strong one.

You echo what my momma says about Trump. Great on American soil but maybe not so much on foreign affairs. |

Location: SE Louisiana | I saw it as nothing more than a Trump bashing party. No president ever elected knew everything about everything and everybody in the world. That's what they have advisers for. That whole night the only person to score against Trump was Fiorina and what he said about her face. Well... They have been taking pot-shots at his hair for a decade, and he decides to fire a few shots back and now he's the bad guy.
Sure, he's had a few businesses go bankrupt, but at least he knows when to STOP spending money. Unlike the a$$wipes that have run this country 19 TRILLION DOLLARS IN THE HOLE!!!
Screw foreign policy. It's about time we focused on THIS country!!!
Trade?? Screw China!! It's about time trade became TRADE instead of a one way flow of our money to them.
I know what's coming if Trump wins the White House. War on our own border with Mexico. The drug cartels OWN AND CONTROL Mexico. Trump knows this, and you do too!!! |

I think he's the most "real" person in the race, and not a politician, so that's a definite plus. I just worry about not having a filter of any kind on his mouth!!!
But I'm not a political person, so what do I know?!! I just feel like we are supposed to elect people we think are smarter than us to run our country. And God knows that hasn't happened lately. . . .

That's a welcome sight to me. I think our founding fathers would definitely approve. There can be no denying this "movement", as evidenced by the front runners like Trump, Fiorina, and Carson. |

The Resident Destroyer of Liberal Logic
Location: PNW | I think this country needs an American businessman at the wheel, and not a politician. While I don't AGREE with everything Trump says, I feel like I BELIEVE what he says - which I find refreshing. I'd rather disagree on true opinions versus agreeing on bull**** ones. I've accepted that I most likely won't ever find a candidate that has the EXACT same beliefs as me, so I'll settle for honesty. |

Nope many US made computers on the market, enough said. I like Cruz also but he seems to ............can't think of the right word.Trump is a punk. He is entertaining but he has no clue how government is run. He thinks he can make a decision and it is done. He is an entrepreneur and they can't work confined like that. Plus he thinks his Sheeeet doesn't stink! The rest I don't want to waste my slow typing skills on my phone. |
