Curious as to why you decided to inject your horses' stifles? What symptoms was your horse exhibiting and how did he/she respond after?

I had injected my horse's hocks in January and it improved his rough/hoppy lope some, but not as much as it should have. He was still rough to the left so I took him back to the vet in March and he said his left stifle was hurting him and dry. He went ahead and injected it. When I went back to riding him he was smooth as silk so I guess between the hocks and that stifle we fixed the problem!

I had been doing hock injections for a year when I noticed he started to get a little choppy at the lope and crossfiring off and on. So I asked the vet if we could do stifles too as his hocks have improved substantially since being injected yearly. So we did and he's gotten much smoother and more riding actually keeps him more loose and comfortable

Mine partially tore her stifle muscle when she was 5. about 6 months to a year she would randomly get gimpy not really cripple but you could tell she was sore and would be like that for a few weeks then be fine. so the vet suggested we inject her. Now she has no problems if we keep them done. She only has them done every 6 months. She makes it clear when she's starting to get sore agin.

Mine needed his SI done, but the pain had come down into his hocks and stifle so after injecting the hock, stifle, then SI we finally found the problem. Hasn't been sore in his stifle since

Mine started locking his hip up to the right and being ****y if I asked him to unlock it and open his ribs up. He still had a stop to die for but was unusually ****y which is not like him at all, he's very willing. Passed a flex test, only to find a form of OCD on his x Ray in his right stifle. No chips, but a ticking time bomb :
( injecting it did a world of wonder for him.

I have had 3 different horses injected in their stifles with all 3 having different problems. It did not help any of them. I wouldn't do it again as I feel it is a waste of money. Glad it helped some of the other's horses.
After my husband had his knee/stifle injected, it helped with the pain for 5 days then he was back to where it was before. Only time has helped heal the tear.
I wonder if this also applys to horses? We should just give them some time off or lesson the type of work we expect them to do.
