Location: Arkansas | Yep. My vet gave me 7% iodine to squirt down in the huge hole in her coronet band. I put it in every day. This is her 2nd. abcess in the same exact location in 6 mths. time.

Location: Texas | My son took him to TxA&M today for a MRI. Get final report from vet tomorrow but prelimary is torn ligament in foot/ankle? At least now we know, but has anybody dealt with one like this. Just trying to figure out how long this is going to take to rehab. |

Depends on which ligament, I could be wrong on this, but there is one ligament that doesn't heal, you either have to do a graph or stem cells, you will have to ask you vet about this.

| I soak out abcesses with hot water, Epsom salt, and stir in enough Betadine in that to make it look like tea. Once it busts out the sole, I would still soak it another day or 2 in the same mixture. The salt helps draw it out but the Betadine will soak into the hole and disinfect the inside track where the abcess was and eliminate any residual infection. On day 3, treat the foot with 7% iodine and try to get it in that hole. The iodine will harden up the sole and help close it up. |
