| What does everyone use for mats when they haul to barrel races with stalls on concrete? |

Location: South Central Florida | The ones I use are pain in the butt, however they seemed to keep thenhorse comfortable. I have 3 1" thick 4 x 6 ft. Mats we bought at Tractor Supply. We roll them and tie with Hay string...unroll in the stall and cover with a ton of shavings. They are heavy and awkard but they last forever. Nasty when we take themnout. But wash off then roll and tie. |

I have those same mats. They are HEAVY. But they will last forever!
Thankfully I have never had to stay overnight on concrete stalls. |

I have rented the big mats from Elite before, but they're not as budget friendly. |

Location: CTX | I have the 4'x6' mats from TSC, and I had hubby cut them in half. They are still nasty after a couple of days use, but lots easier to handle when I am by myself.
he scored them with a boxcutter and then it was easy to cut through.

| Someone on Facebook or on here used some type of mats that were about $8 apiece. They looked pretty good and light weight. For the life of me, I cannot remember the name. I know that helps a lot. |

Location: MD | Honestly, I have tried just about every mat scenario you could think of through the years and I have finally given up. Now, I start out by putting down 6 bags of Woody Pet type bedding and bed heavily over top with shavings. Even my massive stall walker doesn't get to the concrete, as the pellets just crush up and produce more bedding as the pacing grinds them. |

| Debbie Konklin sells mats that are awesome. They are light and roll up so it makes for easy hauling. You can facebook her as I do not know the brand but several use them. She is from the Wichita area. |

| I was thinking about getting mats until Christmas Cash the other year and saw these poor ladies having to pull them out from their shavings, and then they were GROSS, so then they had to drag them out and sweep them off or drag them to the hose to rinse off, and then try and stack them on their little wagon to take to the trailer and women and mats were "flying and falling" everywhere LOL...and I said to heck with mats....I'll spend 30$ on shavings and that is what I have done and its the best feeling ever to catch my horse and leave and walk by everyone struggling with their mats :) (just kidding) BUT I even put shavings on the ground at rodeos if I'm on dirt and having to tie out...because my horse doesnt want to stand in mud if he pees and will totally and awkwardly avoid the pee spot on the ground however small because he is a diva. |

I have used the foam puzzle mats too, easy to handle and if they are too messy they are easy to rinse off. I've used baling twine to tie the stack of pieces and they are easy to transport. Once I have the mats down I use 4-5 bags of shavings on top of that and I like it |
