What is everyones usual pre race prep?? For a 3 day show?? or even a Rodeo?? What pre race paste is everyone using?? Thinking about trying the Jail Break GI! And wanting to try a new liniment or something to use before and after the show?? Thanks! (This is my first post) Excited to be apart of the barrel horse world community! Thanks again!

I have to give Lasix to the one I am running now. That's about it as far as that goes. But I love the Sore No More gelotion and clay, I put some on them...I put some on me haha.  AND WELCOME!

Thanks girl! Where do you order that? are do you use it before or after? The mare im running now does not require lasix but she is very prancy and ready to run! So i was thinking the Jail Break would calm her nerves without taking the run out of her! Someone also suggested using Prevecox 4 days prior to competiton! said its easier on the stomach than bute! This mare has some age on her

Theyre right about the Previcox. Not a bad idea at all. You can order Sore No More on Amazon if no one in your area sells it. It lasts fooooorever. The Gelotion is the way to go. I think when I use it on my shoulder it usually helps between 8 and 12 hours! Its a cool liniment so you can wrap over it without fear of buring or anything like that. The clay actually brushes off so you dont even have to have water to take it off it your water supply is limited at a rodeo or something. I love it. I use it before a run, and then I use the clay after unless it was just a light run and then I use the liniment again...but like I said...it lasts a long while.

We use In The Zone paste by Animal Element! It is great, helps with mind, coerces, coats the stomach. It helps our horses stay focused! If you have a horse that gets a little nervous or hot this product is amazing and it will NOT take the run out of them and it is all natural and will not test! PM me for more infor! Very affordable as well

I am a huge fan of the Oxy-Gen products! Everything I run gets Jailbreak or Boost prerace. I use some of their other products for horses with specific needs, as well. I find that I do more work during the week than I do prepping on race day. Leading up to a long weekend/week of barrel racing, they get massage and or acupuncture. I tend to do a lot of leg work and rub legs with Sore No More liniment after every ride. I use both PHT and BOT products, depending on the horse and any known issues, I will determine which to use at what times. I do my best to keep them comfy and happy at all times. The biggest thing that I can say beyond giving the Jailbreak is that I like to give my horses a nice, long warmup at the walk before their run and walk them for at least 15 minutes after a run. I think that sometimes we get so caught up on using certain "things" to pamper them that the basics such as a proper warmup and cooling out sometimes get shorted.

Can you tell me more about the Jailbreak. If i gave it too far out, could it have made my horse "nutty" coming down off it?? I gave it last race and he was a crazy sweating idiot and so unlike himself.

I do have one horse who responds to Jailbreak as though I have given him a shot of straight Adrenaline. For that horse, I use the Relax. It has the Jailbreak in it, but also calms them down. Doesn't dull them in any way, or take away any run, just takes the "edge" off that the Jailbreak seems to create in him. For me, the benefits of the Jailbreak are worth having to give him a slightly more costly prerace paste in order to know that he has it in him. I have found that there are instances (loosely going to say maybe 1 in 20 horses) that respond this way.

That's a very common side effect with it. It also happened with one of my horses no matter how far out I gave it and I also tried different doses. Happened to a few friends of mine too.
