Ready to Introduce The Newest Addition....

For those who have me on FB you already know about the newest horse addition, but I figured it was time to introduce him to the BHW family, but first, a little back story as to why this guy has a little extra meaning behind him.

Since I was a kid and saw City Slickers I've wanted a horse like Billy Crystals main mount, true black with four white socks and a blaze. 5 years ago I found such the horse but couldn't afford him. I kept in touch with the owners over the years and finally I had to take the plunge as the timing felt right and spent 16hrs driving round trip to finally bring him home.

Everyone please meet "Smokin Blue Gun" aka 'Elvis'. 2005 AQHA stallion. Dash For Cash on his maternal side with Mr Gun Smoke & Doc Bar on has paternal side. He's also SW1/n, hence the blue eyes, ( heterozygous for the Splash gene) so he has a 50% chance of having chromed out foals. I've had him a little while now, he was turned out to pasture for a little over 2 years prior to me picking him up so he needed a little TLC and some weight loss. He's rusty but doing well under saddle and have already hauled him out to an evening roping jackpot to have ridden around.

To answer a few questions, No this isn't our first stallion, No I do not plan to stand him at stud, No I do not plan to geld him either. Plan is to train and hopefully compete on him on barrels. Yes, he has been very well raised and is a gentlemen.
