A little mare i had been working fell a couple months ago on the third and since has had a "hang up" issue on the third barrel where she fell. It does not matter where we go or the ground- it always happens. I have tried a few exercises and lots of circles.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gGRZKPN-DQ

You have two things going on here. Horse is on the wrong lead and is very strung out on all three barrels. When you circled the third barrel several times you can really see it. Good video. Go back to the drawing board and get control of shoulders and hips. When you do that you will have the horse more up under you. I haven't seen Martha Josey's new book but I do know she has some drills in it that most of us around here do. I think the book is about $30.

Work on that horse's leads before you go any farther. That will be a big help.

The Hang up would indicate (to me) that she's still hurting from the fall.

I would have a Chiro go over her.

What kind of drills do you do for hip control?

move off your leg but only move the hind quarters. In English, a turn on the forehand is using this idea. The main reason that you would need this is if your horse is starting to get too front endy in the turns.

I work lots of fore hand turns, haunches in/ out... She has been chiroed on twice since the fall and had a lameness exam done. She also works roll backs really well and spins. She's very broke but has an attitude from h*ll. most I ride are more English broke as that's what I do most because it's what I know...

Some horses just don't want to be barrel horses. If you have to make the horse work because of an attitude, the horse doesn't have the grit to make a barrel horse. Attitude problems!!! time to move on.
