Triple Crown or LMF for mare and foal?

Looking to switch my broodmare to a mare and foal feed in the next month as she enters the last few months of her pregnancy and throug till weaning. Debating on using Triple Crown Growth or LMF Development. She's currently on LMF Super supplement, rice bran, and Alf pellets. I am also not sure if I should slowly switch her onto just the grain since currently she gets only just over a 1lb of the LMF SS and both of these feeds suggest several pounds per day. Trying not to break the bank but want her and the foal to have the best nutrition.

I am not sure on LMF but TC feed mills are NOT ionophore free so I would not risk it by going to TC.

LMF is a safe mill I just checked on them. I am feeding my weanling the developement or super supplement. She would probably be fine to keep on the super supplement or change to the developement. It is lower in fat than I like so I do add some to it. I stopped feed TC after having some issues with colic in the only two horses who were eating grain and it has not been very good quality lately.

If you do know what ionophore is, I would suggest researching it. There's a group ok Facebook "Is your horse feed safe?" That has lots of info!

Lmf is made in an isonophor free plant... It is a great feed, I feed the development to my colt and he looks great... Just remember if she's on an alfalfa diet you get the A formula... It's the only feed that I have found that is balenced for alfalfa cal phos ratios.... I also feed the gold to my other horses it's comparable to tc complete...

There is nothing special to feeding a broodmare or a foal. Marketing hype is mostly all you are looking at. What you are feeding now is perfectly fine if not better than the specialty feeds you are looking at switching to. I would keep doing what you are doing and if you feel she needs just a bit more energy, up the alfalfa pellets a couple of pounds.
There is absolutely NO need to switch feeds if you are happy with your current plan.

Personally, I would stay clear of triple crown. Ionosphere plants are one reason, but we had dealing with them over bad feed that almost killed my horse and they do not stand behind their products.
