I actually just had this little one and it's awesome!

I got 2 years out of it before I had to replace it and I like the little top thing. theres another brand I have but am totally drawing a blank on it right now but it was the same price and is still going strong. I've actually worn the label off the base lol. I think it was a black and decker?

I can't speak for the Ninja (don't own one) but I do have a Nutribullet and really like it alot.  I have heard good things about the Ninja's from other people so you might want to compare the two for what works best for you.  I like my Nutribullet because I can fit it in a cabinet easier and I like not having to wash out a big container each time I make something.  The only drawback I've encountered is that if you overfill the container (you'll know it by the line mark), it sometimes leaks badly if you have a lot of liquid in the mix.  Other than that I haven't had any problems.  I bought mine from Wal-Mart -- have seen the Ninja's for a cheaper price at SAMS Club.

I love my Ninja blender. It "pulverizes" ice in about 30 seconds.

I have a Vita Mix that is beyond belief. I make ice cream, hummus, smoothies. It is wonderful. Well worth the price.

I have the nutribullet and the ninja. I like them both equally for different reason. the bullet is easier to clean, especially if you are just wanting to make a little bit, I have pretty just used the bullet to make smoothies out of everything. My husband got his teeth knocked out and jaw broke by a colt and had to eat everything through a straw. The bullet turned everything from shrimp, to steak to canned soups into pured liquid.

I love the ninja when I make smoothies for more than one person, mixed drinks, cookie dough, and it sure does a nice of chopping veggies and chicken! But I do find it a little more difficult to clean.
