Location: North Dakota | I've decided to keep my Meleta for now. Per her fitting instructions, it fits well and requires a thin pad-about 1/2". I have a 3/4" CE wool pad right now and really don't care for it. I know the Saddlerights are quite thin and the ProtecTOR (or CorrecTOR. Whatever.) is a little thicker but I assume the fleece underside will squish down a little. I want the best bang for my buck for protecting his back. Like I said, his saddle FITS but he does have KS so anything I can do to to make him more comfortable-- distribute pressure, absorb shock, etc. is good. I had a CSI pad before but that was WAY too thick so I've pretty much narrowed it down to these 2. |

Location: CTX | I don't know the protector, so can't comment on that. But I do have several saddlerights, and I really like them. I use those next to my CSI pad. Like them both, but like you mentioned the CSI is quit thick (and I have the 1/2"). The Saddleright stays off of the spine, so no pressure points there. |

| There was one pad I asked Meleeta about when I bought my saddle. She said it was a good pad but did not work for her saddles. I can't remember which one it was. You might ask her which one she would recommend. I need to contact her about this as well. |

Ok. I know that's what she kinda said with the CSI. |

Yeah, now that you mention it, I remember her saying that about CSI, but I was asking about a thinner pad and there was one she didn't like with her saddles. I kinda think I remember which one, but since I can't for sure remember, I'll have to email her about it. |

That was the one. What pad do/did you use with her saddle? I need to use a thinner one than my ESP but he hates the Bayou West pad I have and the cheapo thin fleece lined pad. |

Location: North Dakota | The other pad that kinda piqued my curiosity are these ones https://www.toklat.com/Products/BP/43-8750 The one with the "extreme pro impact" inserts would be a little over a half inch with the fleece. The videos showing how much shock these absorb is pretty impressive. |

| I like the thinline pads, they have a variety of styles. If I need a really thin pad, I use their liner that has a thin wool layer with the thinline on top, then a navajo on top, or under., I also have used just the thinline material pad alone on top of a navajo. |

That was my next idea lol. |

I used a 1/2 or 3/4" contoured felt. |

Location: Texas | I use and sell Saddleright pads. I have also had experience with use of one on a horse with KS. I had formerly used CSI on the horse but still has issues of soreness. I started using the Saddleright pad on him and found that it worked out much better. The stability of the pad along with less bulk woked very well for this horse. The SRPad was designed to allow the muscles to work properly under the pad, dispersing the pressure better than many of the other pads on the market. |

I know they're the best wool pads on the market but over the years I've developed a real disdain for felt pads. I just don't like them. I hate my current pad. I had a 5 Star and sold it. |
