Looking for testimonials to both products.
Thanks to the lovely TX winter weather my mate is cycling. She's normally a little hot but very responsive and light. Yesterday she got a bee up her butt and was determined to RUN the entire ride and even tried to reared and rand through the bit while I was trying to stop her. NOT like her at all and not even at all like she has done the past few springs. So due to the lovely attitude she exhibited yesterday I've decided to either rput her on depo or regu-mate. Vet recommends depo but reading online it seems it isn't as effective.
Sorry for any type-o's this was all typed on my phone
Thanks in advance

My mare has been on injectable Altrenogest for a year now. This has made an incredible difference not only in her life quality but also in her athleticism. Before I started her on it, she was constantly coming in heat and was on the verge of being dangerous on the pattern because she would run off when she didn't feel good or feel like running and turning. I had her checked at UC Davis by a specialist and he found no medical problems with her. The Altrenogest is supposed to be injected every 12 days, but my mare gets it every 11 1/2 days durning most of the year and every 10 days right now because this is the hardest time of the year for her. I like that I can make adjustments to her dose based on her need. This doesn't really answer what you are asking but it is perhaps another option for you. Good luck!

Yes but injectable vs oral dosing. Also Altrenogest is every 12 days vs. daily. I think most people don't think of Altrenogest when you say regumate. There are a lot of options.

I dont want to steal the thread but I was also wondering about a product to help with cycling. I just purchased a coming 6yo and the previous owners kept her on the injectable when they ran her
(race track
) and said it really helped her focus a lot more. She has a very wandering mind naturally
(like ADD in people
) and has been off the med for 2 months now and I think come spring when I start hauling her I want to put her on something that will help her. I dont REALLY want to do the injectable or regumate but I would like to try something. Maybe something that doesn't stop her from cycling but something that helps with the cycling
(discomfort, moodiness ect
).

MareMagic is supposed to help with that but I didn't have luck with it. Also Silver Lining Herbs has some stuff for focus along with Platinum.
Edited to add: I tried most of the options I just mentioned in my mare but she is obviously needing more drastic measures. Hope those work for you
