| Some may remember my post some time back and I thank all of you so much for responding. I had said the doctor thought I was peri menopause and now is recommending Wellbutrin.
I probably shouldn't have got online and read all the side effects because now I am worried about trying it. Especially the part about seizures. Anyone here take it and if so can for those that are comfortable sharing could you pm me your experience if you don't want to post it?
I appreciate it. I was prescribed 150mg once a day.

Location: Cocoa, Florida | Have never taken it but have heard it's a good drug. Those side effects have to be listed by law it doesn't mean any of them will actually happen. All you can do is try, I know a few friends that have taken it and we're happy with results. Just start at a lower dose. |

Location: OH. IO | I have taken for long periods of time and if anyone will suffer from side effects it will be me. I loved it.no side effects and it helped me for years.only reason I stopped is it stopped working for me so I had to change meds for awhile. |

Location: Slipping down the slope of old age. Boo hoo. | I have no knowledge of it personally, but I have a couple of coworkers who took Wellbutrin as part of their effort to stop smoking. They did stop smoking. I don't know of any issues they had taking it. I have several acquaintances who take it for other reasons and they seem to be doing very well. |

| I took it, had no side effects, but it didn't help me-i started with the minimum dose however and doctor switched me to something else rather than upping the dosage. |

Location: Where Governor's make the liscense plates | I have never had a reaction to medication before until I took Welbutrin. It's really more of an intolerance, but I took it as an antidepressant after my dad died and it made me feel tens times more depressed and almost comatose.
I'm only sharing my small intolerance because you asked but I'm very pro medicine to help with an issue- I take verapamil for migraine prevention and it works well for me. So people have had bad reactions to verapamil but all I noticed was dizzy spells that have subsided.

Location: Cocoa, Florida | I took Paxil for years and it helped, mine was never depression but anxiety and panic attacks. I was recommended Wellbutrin but I haven't tried it. Looking for something else to help with panic attacks, I have tried a lot of natural stuff - best thing for me is staying active and busy, exercise helps a lot and horses of course! |

| Thank you all so much again. I appreciate all the responses. I am going start it this week while I have a few days off.
I tried a low dose of paxil and my head felt like it was going to explode. The doctor said it was because I needed dopamine not serotonin. So the reason the change to wellbutrin. It made sense after I did some reading on it. |

| I was on it for awhile and had no side effects. I couldn't tell I was taking it, other than I felt chipper. My mom's Dr put her on it after her chemo treatments and she had side effects such as nightmares and anxiety. |

| I was on citalopram (generic for celexia) for about 4 years. Made me feel horrible. Low energy and gained about 25 pounds. I decided I was going to go off it and what a nightmare that was. Headaches, dizziness, brain shocks, upset stomach, etc and that was slowly tapering off which took me about 2 months. So I was hesitant to try Wellbutrin when my doctor prescribed it, however I have been on it about 6 months now and feel great. More energy, happier, and I've lost 10 pounds! The only down side that I found was I did have a bit of trouble sleeping, but I started taking it first thing in the morning and that seemed to help.

Location: NE Texas | I hope that Kaycee will see this and respond. She has had a heck of a time with some of these drugs, but I can't speak as to which ones specifically.
I would encourage you to get a jar of the HU Adapt & Calm from Cur-OST and see if that helps you. I have a friend at work who was having severe panic attacks. She gave this product a try and said that is has eliminated her anxiety and depression so much and been very helpful in managing the stress. One thing the Adapt & Calm won't do is sedate you or make you feel groggy. It will just allow your body to better handle the effects of the stress and reduce the anxiety causing these feelings. So not only is it reducing the primary issue, but it is also providing your body with the things needed to protect itself from the inflammatory results of stress on the body. |

Location: Good ole SE Mo | I take Wellbutrin now (well most of the time when I remember to take it in the morning) it's for anxiety but I also think a touch of depression too. I love it. I don't seem to have any side effects and feel a lot happy/calmer when I am taking it. I tried the generic for Celxia (sp) first and really did not like it at all! If I missed one dose then I felt really funny and weird. So I asked for a different one. Tried it but can't remember which one it was but it totally killed what little bit of sex drive I had. I eventually asked for a different kind and went to Wellbutrin and it is the one for me. I take the lowest dose and get along great.
Which reminds me that I haven't taken it for a few days and best take it in the morning lol  |

Location: TN | Even though I wish it weren't the case, I've tried probably 15 different types of antidepressants over the last 15 years. And I'm only 30. I've fought anxiety and depression for years and at age 27 I found out I was pre menopausal. It's incredibly difficult to find the 'right' drug. There's so many out there and everyone's brain chemistry is different. Plus adding in the fact that most people will eventually build a tolerance to the drug and have to move on to a different one. I took Wellbutrin for 1 day. Lol. It made me incredibly jittery. I felt like I could literally crawl out of my own skin. im currently on brintellix and its hands down the best drug I've been on thus far. I also take buspirone as needed for panic attacks. My dad took the Wellbutrin for a short time with the same side effect. But like I said, everyone's reactions are different, which is part of the reason there's sooooooo many different antidepressants out there. I hope you find one that works well for you, it can be a frustrating process until you find the right one. Good luck!! |

Location: Cocoa, Florida | I need a good SSRI for anxiety, I'm by no means depressed at all, not even close, the Paxil seems to help but I still get anxious from time to time, I find that staying busy is the best for me, I take the lowest dose they have so I can try to fight the attacks on my own.
I would like to know some exercises or treatments I can do on my own when I feel one coming on, I guess a psychologist would be best for that, tried it when I was younger but never took it serious |

Location: Loma Linda, CA | I ended up wth seizures when I started wellbutrin. Mine was to treat adult ADHD. It did, but... seizures.
I also was on other meds for my depression/anxiety.
I ended up losing my license (still don't have it, but I think I get it back in January)
Countless trips to the ER. Ended up taking a leave of absence from work for over a month and a half and having to detox off of it.
Now I'm medication free and no seizures! However, I do electro shock therapy (meds weren't working anyways, did an inpatient stint for suicide attempts, and an outpatient stint) and give myself seizures now lol... But no meds anymore! It's even helped my ADHD. Kinda.
In short, DONT DO IT!
Actually, it's different for everyone. I guess my seizure threshold sucks. But I also have a past TBI.

| Never taken it but, if it's hormone related and you possibly want to consider another route, you could look in to bio-identical hormones. If you do, you have to find a women's health doctor who specializes in them. |
