I'm wanting to order a Corriente for her upcoming 4th birthday. I was thinking 12" so she could use it longer, but when I called the dealer recommended 10". She is very tall for her age (tallest in preschool.) What are your thoughts? Also, which type? Buckaroo for the deeper seat? Or barrel saddle? https://corrientesaddleco.com/YOUTH.html

I would probably get a 12", you can buy seat shrinkers to use. That way it will last her longer.

Following. Will be ordering one for my 7 yr old later this week. Will be getting a 12", but curious between the Buckaroo and barrel. I'm concerned with the thicker horn and grabbing it in her turns on the Buckaroo.
I have a Corriente for myself.

12" for sure!  I got Elli a 12" when she was a little shaver (like 3 or 4?), and it lasted her until she was about 12 years old and outgrew the fenders before the seat.  Both my kids had the buckeroo styles. One of the best investments I ever made. :)

I love those little saddles I have seen a few and think they are the coolest, you are making a very wise pick on picking a Corriente, very well made saddles.

I would recommend a 10 inch, especially if they will be barrel racing, my daughter ran in her 10 inch Coriente buckaroo from age 2 to 11, she had 2 of them and we sold them for the same amount as we paid for them. I did order one of them with longer fenders because my daughter is taller. It's much safer to have them in a smaller saddle and they can sit better if running faster. Probably fine to ride in a 12 if they are taking it easier.

My daughter is 7 and has room to spare in her 10" Allen ranch, but the fenders are let out all the way. I have a 12" Shiloh for her to move up to, but the youth fenders on it won't take up short enough.
