I have a martha josey saddle that I love ridding on my free running horses. However the gullet is to narrow for my current horse. So I'm looking for a new saddle that would be similar to the feel of a josey. Any opinions?

Just from what I've heard from everyone I've talked to, you will not like a Crown C. Some people get tilted forward in them. They're definitely not saddles that set your feet forward and put you back on your pockets like a Josey. Between the Raceer and the FX3, I'm not sure. But if you were planning on ordering new, they no longer make the Martin Racer.

I rode for a very long time in a Josey saddle and I like my Crown C.

I like my feet in front of me and to ride on my pockets. The crown c didn't work for me, but the original cervi rode great and the Martin Racer rides almost just like it, but with a deeper seat.

Loved loved loved my OLD josey. Have ordered 3 and sold all of them, they dont make them like the old ones. I have to have a forward hung stirrup. I have tried the Ammerman which felt like the josey, but didnt have a forward hung stirrup. My WPRA saddle is a cactus, nice front end, but again no forward hung stirrup..same thing with Ty Mitchell...So i broke down and ordered a "just be Natural" to fit my DTF tank and i love it however dont want to ride young ones in it, feels too secure. I just ordered my 2nd TOP HAND saddle as i love that one also. They will make it with a forward hung, and also ordered this one with buster welsh tree and it has a flare...this is the closest i have come to a Martha
