Location: West Texas | I know what you are saying. In most ways that isn't all that relavent to his training for the majority of his clientele. He himself, is quite a hand, one of the best in the country. He needs a big slice of humble and respectful pie, but that really isn't the topic. He has been focusing on becoming a performance trainer and has made great strides in that area. He did just win last years NRCHA futurity rein work in the prelims. That is one heck of an accomplishment. You will see much more from him in the future, as a performance horse trainer. There is a lot about him I like. He is not a natural horsemanship guy and has a disdain (rightfully so) for the folks that perpetuate that idiotic philosophy to the public. I have learned a lot from him and his basic method is the best one a person trying to learn on their own could follow. I am not a fan of his signature method trainers and all of that. I have heard way too much negative about his personality as well.

| I love the politically correct and must be a winner attitude of the posts by non-winners at 60++ years old ...
Every race horse owner, barrel racer, speed event and ropers know why each and everyone of us are in these speed events ... the CLOCK IS THE JUDGE AND JURY ... YOU CAN'T CHEAT IT BY OPINIONS of those HIDING IN A BACKROOM CLOSET ...
As you know .. judges at shows are also trainers and trainers are also competing and it is a closed club of kinfolks and clannish individuals. .. Little ol' me or little ol' you or big time Clinton Anderson is not going to walk in ...... compete with a dazzling performance and walk away as the champion or top dawg at the event .... AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!!
Any time you have the above happening and also a show committee, if you are a fly on the wall you will hear decisions on who has served his time supporting the group and has earned his turn to win the event..... well before the show begins.. We all have seen cutters quit hot cattle, get points for continuing to work a cow after the buzzer, Reiners with short sliding stops, out of position on their 360 turns, working cow horse that ends up on the inside of cow on fence work or sloppy final wraparound turns and they all end up with the highest score and win the event ....
If you are one of the clan you can look forward to winning next year .... lol
Rough stock judges and gimme the time is almost as bad .... I have never figured out the high scores for riding a rocking horse the full length of the arena.... vs.... the score for bucking high, in circles, direction changes and sunfishing horses ending up with very low scores .... same with some bull riders getting an 8 second ride while climbing the fence or laying in the dirt when the buzzer goes off .. lol
The only two events I can think of at AQHA and APHA that are not judged (yet) are barrels and poles .... the other events are judged .... roping is not a speed event at either association .... heeler, header, calf roper etc etc are judged on form not record breaking times ...
Carol Rose had such a following inside of AQHA due to her horse program earning AQHA a lot of money with the Incentive Fund she was the Queen of the arena ....
Carol Rose has bred AQHA horses and the resulting performance horses have earned:
More than 28,900 American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) points, averaging 69 AQHA points per foal and 94 AQHA points per point-earner, including 49 American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) World and Reserve World Championships, 13 American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) National All-Around titles, and earners of more than $3,400,000.
National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) earnings of over $1,000,000.
National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) earnings of over $580,000.
National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) earnings of over $700,000.
TOTAL: $5,680,000
Carol Rose is the leader in all American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Incentive Fund categories as she leads in AQHA Incentive Fund foals bred, in AQHA Incentive Fund foals nominated and owned; total AQHA Incentive Fund money earned, and total in AQHA Incentive Fund nominated siresβ earnings.
Hat's off to her for the well managed horse and arena program she ran !!
I BET YOU GUYS NEVER REALIZED THERE WAS THIS MUCH MONEY TO BE WON AT AQHA EVENTS...
Ease up on old Clinton .. If you have ever tried to talk constantly and coherently all day long while chasing and correcting or riding a horse without losing your wind ... you know how much talent it takes and how hard that is to do !!
My Grandad always had good advice:
A little sarcasm, dry humor and wit are OK to draw attention
but you had better be able to throw a larger shadow if you are going to talk about someone ....... ... lol ...

Very well put! Thanks! When people judge, it can't be any other than biased.
I know from experience that his method works.
