Low pressure thru your pressure washer, let is sit for a few minutes (5) then rinse well under high pressure.

Probably needs acid washed. I ordered Streakmaster online and very impressed. Spray on and rinse off $40 for a gallon makes 4-6 gallons . We have a truckstop that acid washes trailers but heard it can be toxic to horses if not rinsed well.

I might have to try this.  Did you spray on with a spray bottle and hose off?

Take it to a Blue Beacon. I'll never hand polish one again.

I'm a blue beacon lover from way back but have recently been deprived of my weekly BB Visit.

Even though i was sceptical I ordered the streakmaster product and tried it and was pleasanlty surprised by how good it worked.

^^^^^^^^^^^ AGREE! I had mine done for the first time in November and I almost blinded myself because it was so shiney when they were done. They did my entire trailer plus washed my pickup for around $75. So worth the money.

Yes I used a chemical spray bottle (1 gal) sprayed on and rinsed off with water hose nozzle.

We've always used acid. Put in a pump up sprayer. Spray one side of the trailer, rinse then do the other side, front and back. Sunday after coming in from a barrel race in the rain I spot cleaned the outside with dawn dish washing liquid and it did a pretty good job. Not sure how it would look over time but for spot cleaning it looked good.

I had always done it myself with Streakmaster but it is a heck of a lot of work. Last time, I took it to a truck wash and had it acid (or whatever it is) washed and it wasn't that expensive and it made it look BRAND NEW.

Congrats on your trailer!

I don't have very much of the "shiny" aluminum on my horse trailer but when I bought it, I took it to a guy (friend of father-in-laws) who has lots of experience acid washing semi trucks.

My trailer came back looking like new! Looked fastastic. And the guy only charged me something ridiculously low like $40, because it was a pretty small job for him for what he's used to.

I will never hesitate to acid wash a trailer. (Plus then I don't have to do it myself!)

Aluminum protects itself with an aluminum oxide which is the discoloration .. the black streaks are where more water has run over the skin and created a heavier coat of Al oxide ...
A steel trailer will rust and eat the metal since it is destructive rather than protective.

If you get too crazy and acid wash too often and do not pull your mats and give the floor and undercarriage a rinse down preferably with a good soap to neutralize the acid wash ... you can end up with floor problems ... so be cautious and use common sense ..

The thing that al trailer owners fail to do is to wax their trailers by hand after the acid wash to prolong the shine and protect the skin from the elements for a longer period of time ...

What kind of wax do you use?

MOTHER'S CARNUBA CAR WAX ..

Keep in mind when waxing anything ... if you are going to apply any pressure
do it while the wax is damp and then use light wiping motions to remove the
dried film to shine it up ... and all it takes is a light coat of wax to cover each
area as you wax, let dry and then wipe off ..

GOOD LUCK .. HAVE FUN ..

Mine is all white skinned.  It gets scrubbed by hand, by me after each use.  Its kept it shiny enough to see myself in after almost 10 years.  I've never taken it anywhere else to be washed.  I spray and wipe wax a couple times a year.
