Get a tub lick, then your horse can have it till his heart is content. It will last 1 horse a long time.

molassas is the main ingredient in most lick tubs and that can really make for some nasty ulcer issues. And I don't know how anyone can afford them. They stand and eat at them all day...or if they don't contain molassas , the rain and snow will ruin them.

EquiLix doesn't contain molasses and I never had an issue with rain or snow ruining mine.

Mine wouldn't eat it-hence why the rain & snow got to it :

What is the best vitamin/ mineral supplement for a very young malnourished horse.

I'm going to send you a pm for more info

If you don't want to founder him ...

Do a simple avg feeding program ..

6-8 lbs of whole oats and average hay 24/7
for 60 days .... then add a block of alfalfa to the above
2 ivermectin wormings 30 days apart ..

ADM GROSTRONG MINERALS ..
(throw a handful in his oats everyother day)

You will be amazed the bloom this simple program will
put on him... cheap and all natural ..

I agree with this. But I would add Vitalize High Performance. 6 ounces a day. It's very affordable at 125.00 for 50 lbs.

ADM GROSTRONG is <$40 per 50#'s
as an old chemist ... ADM is the old Moorman recipe
and has the correct vitamins to encourage horse to absorb the minerals
that have been ran thru a special chelating process ...
You want to get his system in balance and then stay in balance ..

After the feed deal with ADM, I try to stay away from their products. Grow Strong is their vitamin/mineral supplement. It does not have a prebiotic like Vitalize High Performance does. Which you need to help him digest and utilize his feed. I have taken rescue horses, fed oats, corn and alfalfa pellets plus the Vitalize High Performance and in 30 days had a new horse. People who had seen the horse prior did not recognize them. Feed good quality hay and keep in front of them 24/7.
