Lifeline Elite. Good hay, water, and a loose mineral. The rodeo horses get lifeline elite.

I tried the Exceed 6 way, 2 of my 3 wouldn't touch it. Added it slowly, even with Healthy Coat over they wouldn't touch it. I've done the AE detox...loved the product but twice had issues where my card was charged but the product didn't get shipped, the first time no big deal, the second time I just got fed up. Doesnt' do me any good to have them on and off the product. I bit the bullet and tried the Cur_ost after dealing with on and off lameness in my gelding and hoping there was something out there that would help my head shaker mare even more. While I was waiting for the Cur_ost to come in, I had order the Green, Stomach and Adapt&Calm....my gelding came up VERY lame, pointing his right foot. The Cur-ost came in Tuesday, he got his first dose on Tuesday night, Wednesday he came trotting over, not sound mind you but significantly better and not standing pointing his foot. My little nervous nelly mare got the Stomach, by the weekend she could actually stand to go for trail rides down the creek without bolting over every sound and the head shaker mare was doing beautifully also. I ended up changing all of them over to the Total Support. The gelding ended up having a very deep abscess up against his digital cushion in the inside bar of his foot, got that taken care of, his x-rays had shown some changes to his coffin and navicular bones, not extensive but enough the vet felt we were gong to have to do some significant shoeing changes. The gelding had a follow up appt. 3 weeks later to check to see how the area was filling back in, he had gotten a shot of Osphos and had been put on Isoxaprine (sp). Passed the lameness exam on hard rocky ground both in the straightaway and in circles. I told my vet what I had him on and he felt that if it was enough to help keep him sound without having to do wedges and the likes he was happy to go with it. He has not taken a lame step since. The little mare I had gotten the STomach for went to her first 2 day race in almost 4 years, ate and drank, handled the warm up pen beautifully, ran well and had no issues with the old stifle injury. My head shaker mare is now able to collect up into the bridle again, we have been able to actually do drills and start getting her back into working shape rather than just go for trail rides and stay out of her face.

I used to kind of agree that the best forage, vet, farrier care was all a horse really needed etc. and for the most part, thats what MOST horses need. However, horses were not designed to do what we ask them to do. They are supposed to be grazers and open range animals. They naturally have the ability to roam and find/eat what they need at the time they need it. HOWEVER, we break them to ride, we compete on them ( And their joints) at speeds that they would not naturally do day in and day out. We confine them to pens and pastures so they can't naturally forage for what their body needs. So I do believe and all around supplement is necessary for most general horses and of course targeting supplements for specific issues.

For all of you feeding the cur-ost, HOW do you keep the yellow stain off you fingers and clothes. I just started trying it and jury is out on if it is working. Have not had enough time to ride lately.
