Ok, so my husband has an Allen ranch barrel saddle in which one of the fenders broke. He wants to get cheap fenders but we are not sure what it would look like or even if it will affect the way the saddle rides while showing. Any pics or ideas would be great!!!

To keep the value on this saddle I would put leather fenders on it, no synthetic.

Any advice on where to go to get fenders? They are difficult to find! Looked at Equine Affaire, scoured the internet, but can only find JT international fenders or the crappy synthetic ones that my husband wants...to be honest the allen ranch is a good brand, but probably our cheapest saddle and is a spare....so not willing to spend an arm and a leg but want it to look okay too. That's why the husband is thinking about synthetic. ....I think ewww lol he just wants cheap and functional for when we do use the saddle. He will probably only be using it for trail riding so that he doesn't have to use his Caldwell.

You can buy fenders from Corriente Saddle Company. Just keep in mind that they are priced per fender.....

I found some on Ebay, go to the seller Choicetack, they have some that are pretty nice and they sell them in pairs for 84.50 with free shipping, and they come with blevin style buckles and stirrup hobbles.. Just type in western stirrup leathers or replacement western stirrups leathers, I think that is a pretty sweet deal and cheap, since your hubby dont want to spent much on his saddle.

I would be a little hesitant to buy off of EBAY for this reason only.....you have no idea what quality of leather is being used. Not so much in the fender itself but the stirrup leathers. Many junk saddles are made with "pressed" leather (for a better description) which is downright dangerous for stirrup leathers. More than likely that is the reason for the cheaper price. We all want to go cheap but you have to think safety.....

Thats true, buttt he wanted to go cheap, so I found cheap.. I myself always go with the best, but the ones I saw on ebay were pretty nice compare to some I have seen..

Another one on ebay is Chaps4less a seller and the leather looks pretty darn good. And they sell in pairs also and has the real blevin buckles..

Thanks guys!! Will check into both. Good news is we technically only need one as only one is damaged.

I would change both for even wear and it would look better.

I would call Allen Ranch and see what they charged. I had both replaced for the first time this winter on a saddle that was made in 1996.

I may do that. I talked to a few saddle repair shops, but it hasn't gotten me anywhere. At this point it doesn't hurt to ask Allen Ranch. My only concern was price but it may be the same as using someone local!
