That baby is 4 days old. They can be tricky little things some of them are born very frosty. Others show a little bit of roan here & there. The biggest part of them will have just a tad of roaning in their flank and across their the side of their hip, often you have to see the white hairs out in the sunshine to even be able to see it and then there are the tricky ones they don't show any roaning until they start shedding their baby coat. We have had a few I was sure weren't roan and then they started shedding & there it was. Usually on a bay if you roll their hair back and it looks light underneath they will be roan, but not always.....Rule of thumb though if they aren't roan when they shed their baby coat they never will be. |

Right there with ya. I don't know why I torture myself like this. They are always the nicest looking babies and every spring when the pictures start coming I swear I'm going to get myself one some day. |
