Location: In the land of peanuts and cotton | What's everyone's opinions good and bad. I've got a mare that's round as a barrel and has no whithers only thing ive found that doesn't slip is a impact gel but I bought hers used and its wore out. I tried everything from $300 Wade pads to the really cheap stuff and everything in between. But never a Saddleright.
ETA.... My saddle fits. I had it made just for her. She's just so round everything slips.

I did. That's all I used for 15+ years. All of mine are the really thick ones and that might have something to do with it but they just didn't seem to work. Her impact gel is very thin and I think that's what makes the difference. What did you not like about your Saddleright? |

The one thing I hated from the start was you could not pull up ^ any excess pad for the withers to be free. At the time it didn't occur to me that it would be a issue. I sold both of mine, lost money on them.
I had a saddle right and like it, but went back to the wool pads.
I now use the Classic Equine Zone wool pad and Todd Sloan wool pads.

Location: Golden Gulf Coast of Texas | I have had Saddleright pads for a long time. I like them on some horses but not on others. I have a mare that is round like a barrel also and I like my 3/4 Five star pad the best on her. |

| Love SaddleRight pads! I've had one for a long time, I use on one of my horses. The other horse I've tried sever different pads (5 star, CSI, The Zone pad) and never found one I liked as well as the SaddleRight. I finally just bought a second pad. I like how they never slide no matter what horse I put them on, also the wither clearance.

| I love my saddleright pads but I too had a round backed horse. The saddleright just didn't work. On a roundback horse I second the Won pad. It wont roll and you don't have to ride it that tight. I use my saddlerights on the horses. |

| I love my SaddleRight pad on the 2 horses we currently have. The one is higher withered so it gives him plenty of wither clearance and no pressure. I also like it on our "standard" build mare. We did have one mare for a while that was round as a barrel with no wither (to the point water would pool on her back) she wasn't fat, just built like a tank. I couldn't ever get my SaddleRight to fit on her like I wanted. |

There are different thicknesses of Wonpads. . I do prefer the thinner one. And along that line, I didn't care for the Saddleright because they were so thin!!  I do use the Slone wool pads and really like them and they hold up great!! |

| If you have a custom saddle just for her, I'd buy a 5 star. It will conform to her.
A saddleright is going to be TON stiffer than an impact gel. Or buy another Impact gel if it works...why change?? |

| I bought a used saddleright pad and I like it. It wasn't stiff at all, but it was used when I bought it. I wanted a Sloan pad until I found out they are now made in Mexico and the quality just isn't there any more. I loved my old Sloan, but when I felt of the new ones, they didn't feel the same. |
