Does anyone pack their horses feet when they run on hard ground? If so what do you use?

We used to back in the day. Used a combo of mud/clay with a wrap of silver tape.
Thank goodness we have antivibe/shock rim pads now a days.

I just went old school and trained on an extra firm surface yesterday. I hope that it will condition my horse for the shock wave's that are sure to come once it turns hot and dry and our outdoor arena's here in Texas begin to firm in time for rodeo season.
It dawned on me the other day that I never had bleeders back when I trained on hard surfaces. I'm going to mix it up. Some hard at least once a week.
