I noticed one of my horses this morning had a small white bump on his top gum about in the center. Gums had good color just had that small white bump. He seemed a little off also this morning. He ate his grain but just seemed a little off. They are on pasture so at this time not giving any hay and they get Bluebonnet feed and Omnis cubes. He ate his grain but didn't seem interested in the cubes. Anyone have any horses that have had a small white bump on their horses gums at any time?

Probably an abscess trying to come to a head and burst. Usually from a sliver of hay or splinter getting into the gums, but could also indicate an infection of the tooth root.

Probably a periodontal abscess of some sort. People sometimes get these too.

Yep abcess, had one myself recently.  Now I know what a root canal feels like.

I went home to check on him at noon and the white bump is not so white and looks to be fading. I might try squirting some colloidal silver on it tonight. I rinse my mouth when I get a canker sore. It works for me. I cannot see any other abcess on a tooth or anything. Just wondering if he got a sticker in his upper lip or something. I am not feeding them any hay as they have plenty of grass and I give them about a scoop of Omnis cubes with their supplements. He just seemed not normal this morning, just kinda "blah" acting. He ate but very slowly. Flies are terrible today though and one of his eyes was watering so I might try putting on a fly mask. On a side note, I don't know of any other person who has pasture horses with as many problems as I have gone through in the last year as I have with mine.
