My horses are going to be the death of me! They are turned out 24/7 on pasture.... with all this crazy rain, it's pretty much under water and a complete mess! I wade out there daily to feed and make sure their water trough is clean and full of fresh clean water... but nooooooo... they are too darn lazy to go drink from it and are drinking from the nasty water puddles that developed. All I can think about when I see them drinking that is EPM.. I've taken out two possums around here in the last few weeks.. why do they do this to me!!!!

I have always thought is was they are lacking minerals. When we had dairy cows they had fresh automatic waterers and they would still drink out of the mud puddles even though they got fed a complete feed everyday with all the suppliments that they needed. Go figure.

I'd sure like to think they aren't lacking in anything, but who knows! . I feed blue bonnet, forco and THE MM with added immune. Plus good coastal and I just started adding in a hefty flake of good alfalfa hay twice a day. I did have a salt block out but had to take it out because the rain was killing it! Hopefully the rain will stop soon and we will dry up out here!

Our 5 are on my son's fish ponds, and even though we keep their trough clean and full, at least three of them insist on drinking from the ponds or the mudholes. Drives me nuts since we're possum central down here. I've had very detailed conversations with them concerning what is best for them, but so far they have their hooves in their ears and aren't listening

I just came in from running off alot of buzzards from my water tank and barn.  Took alot of paint balls but they are gone.  I have never seen anything as destructive as buzzards.  They tear up blankets hanging on stalls, destroyed the seat on my tractor and shreded everything they saw.  Now I scare them off as soon as I see them.
