Does anyone run their horse in a head setter?
Will it cause one to be straighter in the turn and not be as bendy or flex around the barrel?

Have a horse that gets his head up bad during a run because he gets so hot. Does not get his nose up, just a high headset so I thought a head setter would be a better choice. He only does this at a competition run when he is antsy. I've tried calming pastes, cookies, etc. etc. Just his personality

The ones I've used it on it doesn't change their bend/flex. Simply helps keep their headset lower.

Mine was getting anxiety at events and I had tried a bunch of different calmings that didn't work so I started her on the GastroPLUS and it calmed her right down. I'm assuming the ulcers would flare up at the event and make her super uncomfortable. I know this may be a long shot but it worked for my horse. Also maybe a diet change? not sure, this one you  may have to play around with. I hope we all can help you figure out a solution!

I started using a head setter in my hot horse. It's the Martin type that has a noseband and poll strap combo. I use one of those stretchable tie down straps that is not solid. It has a little give to it. So if they hit it, not like hitting a wall.

ditto... keeps their head from popping up so high but gives them a little flexibility with their nose.
