| What do you think about Corriente Saddles? I have noticed that they are reasonably priced and seem to be good saddles, but I am hesitant to buy a saddle at this price while not knowing the quality. |

Location: Oklahoma | For the price they're great. My husband had a roping saddle and my daughter had a kids roping saddle. I'd buy one in a heartbeat. |

| Love mine. I bought one and the seat was too small for me. So I bought another one a little bigger. Love them both. |

| Thank you! What is your experience with the fit? Do they fit many horses? |

Location: Missouri | My daughter has a custom Corriente roping saddle built on an association tree. She has had it 5 years - and she USES it. Rides in all kind of weather, it's been through 110 degree days, soaked from rain, in the snow, covered in mud, you name it, and it still looks great and is solid. She uses it almost every day - from pasture checking to roping to rodeo to queening. While she's only had it on two horses, it has fit both great. Both are broad - one has high withers, other not so much.
As for customer service - I have never dealt with nicer or more anxious to please people. They built it exactly the way she requested and have done matching breastcollars a couple of times since (she updates hers with current association queen title). They are fabulous and truly go above and beyond. |

| I have owned three!! Won my first one and it fit everything. The one I use now is not " supposed" to fit my wide back low withered colt so I had a circle Y fit for him. He doesn't like it much so I put him back in the corriente and he loves it!! So I'm sticking with it. I was going to call them and ask if they could make me one in a wide tree with their new saddle style. |

| How do they ride? Do they sit you on your pockets with your feet in front of you or more on your crotch with your feet under your body? |

Location: SoCal | I won a barrel saddle last year that was made by them. I am used to a very deep seat, and to me, it seems like it's a very shallow seat, and very steep on the back cantle. I have problems with my tailbone, and I notice I can't ride very comfortable in it. Typically, with other saddles I've had similar to this, I find myself getting left behind in the turn and then bouncing out of the saddle more, making me hit my tailbone. I actually just won another that will need to be ordered, and am wondering if maybe I should order a size up, because it just feels like the seat is way too small. Usually I ride in a 14-15 inch, and this is a 15, and it just doesn't seem to fit.
I do agree though that fit can be tricky (as it can be with any saddle). I noticed mine looks like it bridges, so I'm not sure if this is simply a problem with the shape of my horses back, or a problem with the tree itself. I do know of a few people who have won them within the last few years that weren't happy, but others were thrilled with the same saddles after said people sold them. I think it'll matter greatly on what you prefer. If you can sit in one prior to getting one, I'd recommend it.
As for service, they're really nice and helpful. If you're looking for a certain color of saddle though, they don't offer different leather stains/dyes. Exotic hides are limited as well. As for quality, they seem really well made. They're tooling is very deep and pronounced. I do believe mine needs some oiling and a lot of ride time, as it's pretty stiff (mine is fully tooled). My seat doesn't seem very cushioned, but it's also got stitching, so that might be why.
I'm picky with what saddle I ride in though, so once I find one I like on a horse, I don't change! lol I'd definitely contact them regarding what trees they have, ect. Best of luck!
ETA: I really haven't spent much time riding in it to see how it really balances you. I felt like it kept me more forward, but it was just an awkward fit in general for me, so I'm not much help there.

| I won my first one 15 years ago. Fit practically every horse I put it on and held up great. Won a couple more, and sold the old one for $450 which was the price of it new.
If you are afraid you won't like it, don't worry. It is the one saddle you can get the full price (or more) for if it doesn't work out. They are nice people, and remember, they will customize! You can dress those saddles up quite a bit for another $100-$200! |

| If you get the right size seat, this saddle WILL NOT sit you on your crotch with your feet back. It is not quite the extreme of a Circle Y forward hung stirrup, but keeps your feet comfortably forward. |

I don't want my feet behind me, but I can't stand to have them in front of me putting me in the chair seat position. I ride with me feet directly under my hips, or at least I try to.:) |

| I had one custom made. BEST saddle I'd had. It was so sturdy I mainly used it for starting colts or the ones i didn't trust, I didn't care if it got banged up, and it never failed me. I got into the thicker foundation bred horses and it didn't fit anything anymore (they are all on 7" gullets). It was so hard to sell it but needed to buy another marlene mcrae. I still regret selling it. Worth the money for sure, and i will be buying another after I'm done with college. |
