I recently purchased the machine package, complete with a bag, machine, silver solution and cleaner. We took it to youth world with us and Sunday used it on our horse and again on Wednesday (am) by Wednesday evening he was deadly sick. He had a 106 fever, heart rate of 80 bpm, a cough, and very thick mucus coming out in clumps from his nose. Prior to the use of the machine he was perfectly healthy as we could tell, with no signs or symptoms prior. He has "burn like" spot(s) on his trachea with inflammation and a mild case of bronchitis. Curious if there are any other similar experiences people have encountered.
He is currently at UF in the ICU department trying to recover.

I've never had a horse have a negative reaction to the nebulization that you were doing. I hope that they can help your horse quickly. Did they get some cultures on him? That will tell you what to treat with.
I really believe in nebulization of performance horses, I was telling the vets at TX A&M this past week how many more bleeders I'm coming in contact with and how the incidence of childhood asthma has increased in our children in the S. TX town I work in.

Did you purchase the machine new and through a dealer?

I hope he is going to be ok. Don't use the equiresp so can't help.

This person did contact Equi-Resp about her horse. We take any concern very seriously. We were a little perplexed after talking to her as she had posted on FB the night before about numerous horses in the barn with her horse were all sick and showing the same symptoms. When she called she told me the horse had esophageal burns and was leaking into the lungs. She gave me the name of the vet she spoke to at University of Florida. I called and the vet told me she did not tell this lady anything of the sort. This lady's daughter also had posted on FB 3 hours before the lady called me that the horse just had a mild case of bronchitis and an inflamed trachea which can happen from coughing or mucus. I followed up with an email to the lady with everything she had stated and what the vet told me. The University of Florida is actually a very good customer of EquiSilver and use it quite a lot. By the very nature of silver, it is used FOR burns. Let us reassure everyone that in no way can EquiSilver cause burns . This is like saying that an antibiotic causes infections. Nor can EquiSilver cause bronchitis. If you look at our FB page you see numerous people talking about how it has helped with every sort of respiratory issue there is. I tried very hard to reassure her that the product was extremely safe and we would do everything in our power to get to the bottom of this.
She also said they had been using the system for almost a month on their other horses as well with no issues.
EquiSilver has 11 year proven history. It is all natural and there is nothing caustic in it at all. Even the disinfectant we use is hospital grade all natural silver. We sell absolutely nothing that has anything caustic in it that could cause burns. You can see great endorsements from vets and trainers on our FB page. In addition, the EquiResp system is currently being used in two clinical trials for a new bleeder medication and another for pneumonia and the trials are going even better than expected. They send the horses home with the system and EquiSilver. EquiSilver is used in some of the most prestigious vet clinics in the world.
We work very hard to ensure that we only provide the very best products available and we work very hard to provide documentation, studies and testing of our product.
We have asked her for a copy of the vets report and she has not yet responded. We care about all of our customers and if there is a complaint we do everything in our power to research and correct any situation. The owner of EquiSilver will continue to follow up on this.

Thank you for your post. My trainer uses EQUIRESP. on my horse and has had excellent results. She is very selective about what she uses. Again thank you for straightening this out. Facts are always good.
