My first horse was a weaver. It never really bothered me. Before I owned her she was kept in a stall 24/7 with VERY limited food. She did it out of boredom and hunger. I bought her in 96, and owned her until she died in 2008. She never stopped weaving. It wasn't something that effected her at all. It got to the point, if I did not see her weaving at some point, something was wrong. She would weave stalled, and during feeding time.
Oh, and she was out with all my other horses and i've never had another weaver. None of my other horses "caught" it.

My OTTB is a weaver. It's annoying but not gonna kill me. He weaves when stalled, when tied, during trailering
(sometimes
). He's on three acres and will stand at the fence and weave. I thought it would bother me more than it does. My mare hasn't picked it up either, never heard of it being learned...
Not sure if mine will be anything in the end as I haven't had time for him lately. But I could find several things about him that bother me more than his swinging. Lol. Go for it and good luck.

I have a weaver and honestly it does not bother me or anyone else. She only does it when she is anxious about something and it does not affect her performance. I will take it any day over the other vices. Alot of her problem is she does not like to share me or be alone. So if I am spending time with her and walk away to get something she will do it or if she sees me and I don't immediately come to her stall then she will do it. Sometimes she will do it if I take my other mare away but for the most part I trigger it. I would purchase the horse because I just don't see it as a deal breaker. She stays in a stall with a 100 ft run so she has plenty of room to move around.

RE: Horse That Weaves
I had a weaver. She was in a 120 x 60 area w/a buddy. She weaved non stop. Had grass hay 24/7 and still weaved. Wore out her hind shoes due to her pacing the fence line. Had her on ulcer meds but couldn't keep weight on her. Weaved at the trailer, weaved while tied. Weaved when I was trying to groom her. Didn't know she was a weaver/stall walker when I got her. Previous owner said her dam was the same way..learned behaviour ? Who knows. But I'll not have another one.
