How do you guys feed your horses that are on stall rest?  Mine had surgery and will be out of commission for 4-6 months.  Stall rest for the first 30 then turnout.  Do you just feed hay and if so, how much?  I don't want him to pack on the pounds:-

Get a slow feed hay net and keep it full of coastal hay 24/7.

I just went through this. Make sure they have good grass hay all the time. Slow hay net works good.
Plenty of water too. If you feed grain you can cut this down slowly to almost nothing.

If he's not already on a good gastric supplement, I would look into one. Stall rest is hard on one that's used to plenty of turnout.

And I agree with what's already been said about hay 24/7.

You don't need to feed grain, but if you don't give him some free choice minerals.  Get a Hay Chix net, helps with the calories and their boredom!

grass hay 24/7. I will also give a flake or 2 of alfalfa in a slow feed hay net in the afternoon. THE GastroPLUS is a must for any of mine injured/stalled.
