My reasoning comes when Trump comes out and praises someone like he did in his Phoenix speech ... as my friend etc etc is a smart move after a disagreement .. It gives the chance to change their minds later without damaging their political ego ... but as Trump has said before ... you never trust this person in the future to keep their word ...

He has plenty of time to stay on this course and hammer away at Hillary. Trump's decision to accept the invitation to meet with the Mexican president was pretty gutsy, and I also think it was a smart decision for him to meet with Trump. After all, he probably can easily envision a day when he will have to deal with Trump as POTUS. That fact alone gave Trump some pretty powerful negotiating power, behind closed doors. I wish I could have listened in on that discussion.
Then there was last night's rally/speech in Phoenix. The press has been clamoring for "details" on his immigration plan, and he gave them exactly that, boldly, unambiguously, and unabashedly. The mainstream media is working overtime to parse, dissect, and analyze his speech. He layed it out there and made his case. The "Angel Mothers" out there was powerful symbolism and put a human face on his message. In addition, one has to believe that resonated with a lot of women voters. One has to think that his new campaign director, a woman, Callie Ann Conway, has a lot to do with what we are seeing.
Meanwhile.....what has Hillary been doing? Trump went to Louisiana, and has ventured into the belly of the beast by meeting with Blacks and Latinos, and then the Mexican president. All this while Hillary meets with wealthy liberal fund raisers in Martha's Vineyard, and is met with a tepid response after being a half hour late to give a boring speech before the American Legion. In the background is the never ending drip, drip, drip of her lies, email scandals, FBI investigation, and more revelations on the Benghazi debacle.

She's desperately trying to beef up her coffers, as the ad campaign is spitting out ads. Trump has spent very little, in comparison, but his counterattack is in the works. By all accounts, Trump is not preparing feverishly for the upcoming debates, while Hillary is preparing feverishly. The evidence of her scandals, pay-for-play corruption, and lies just keeps rolling in.
I don't know, but it seems to me that Trump has one powerful tool he can use in the debates. All he needs to do to counter anything she says is call her what she is. She's a corrupt, congenital liar. He needs to keep driving that home, over and over and over again.....because that's the undeniable truth, and there's nothing she can do to erase the overwhelming evidence that has accumulated over 3 decades. She will try to point out his flip flops, lies, and pivots, but she knows all of that pales in comparison to her flip flops and lies. By comparison, Trump's lies are fibs.....her's are whoppers. It's like a comparing a minor leaguer playing A-ball versus an All Star, when it comes to lies. | |

And Trump wants to get this fixed, so hes the BAD guy.

However the later speech he made he seemed to have done a 180 as if the first speech had never taken place. Had he been two faced because he was in Mexico during the first speech? I thought we had made some progress and Trump had made a speech that would get many undecideds behind him. Then he seemed to have gone back to his usual self. For the record I AM NOT a Hillary fan. I just want to feel like I am standing behind someone who will be a stand up guy and not let his mouth sentence us to 4 years of Hillary.  | |

I can understand your concern but I don't think the tone switch was nefarious. Trump has yet to master the dynamics of multiple audiences. Yesterday during his visit with the Mexican president it was a diplomatic, somber, quieter setting. His speech last night was in a rally style setting and he was catering to the crowd in his tone and delivery. He adapts to his surroundings so to speak. Hope that makes sense. His message is the same | |
