| Please give me some ideas on what to see in Dallas and surrounding areas. Where would be some cool farms/studs to visit? Bringing kids with. Maybe even a trail ride? Thanks in advance. |

Location: Arkansas | Agree with tracies and streakysox. Chandler is a "Dallas" fan, so we went to South Fork also---and had so much fun!! ( Guess we aren't smart enough to realize Dallas/Ft Worth isn't a good place to visit---we love our almost annual winter trips there!!)

| Teskeys, NRS, Paul Taylors, Cavenders.
We went and watched The Patriot barrel race while we were there too.
Six flags used to open on the weekend of the American, but the American is earlier this year.
Dallas Aquarium is beautiful.
JFK Museum, Holocaust museum.
Not sure what you'll find for a trail ride. The first year we went it was 80, the second year we went it was freezing rain and snow.

Seems like South Fork did trail rides, but it was an icey mess when we went to the American in 2015 so we didn't try that option out!! |

Location: Texas | Drive up towards Pilot Point and TiogaThere is High Point Performance horses, Mcquay Stables, Erin Knox has Fly the Red Eye, and I think JEH stallion station is in Whitesboro. Go to Paul Taylor's and Dennards- they're in Pilot Point |

| I just saw on facebook an advertisement for tours of horse farms North of Dallas. Included a meal. $40 per person. Sounded pretty good. |

Chandler is only 18 but for some reason he started watching old "Dallas" in reruns, and then of course we all got hooked on the new "Dallas" which they promptly took off the air!! It was really fun watching him be amazed at being in the house and on that iconic driveway he had seen on TV. He and the guide really hit it off---she said she had never seen anyone that young know anything about the old "Dallas". One of the pictures he took in front of JR's portrait he even used in his SR annual!! I hope you and your family have a ball in Dallas and at the American; we sure did. |

| If your kids are ipad kids .. give them the BHW stallion auction link below to
seek out any that are on hwy 377 running north thru Aubrey, Pilot Point and Whitesboro Tx or Gainesville Ts .. a lot of cutting ranches on this road also
and very friendly to visitors ...
http://barrelhorseworld.com/barrelstallions.asp
A lot of big time racing stallions are a little further north towards Oklahoma City ..
I-35 is just west of hwy 377 so easy to drive to .. horse farms are located
from the Okla state line to Purcell // Norman Okla ... so research this list and use google
maps to locate ..
up in the right hand corner click on ... member stallions ...
http://www.stallionesearch.com/
There is a lot of road construction all over everywhere .. so bring a GPS
with you or you may be lost forever .. lol ..
