I would maybe look into having check for ulcers. Ulcers can make them very uncomfortable not want to perform as you know they can.

Much better info in this post than your original post ..... I would certainly look closely at his shoeing....haven't changed anything have you?  Also, if his hocks are good-have you looked at stifles?  The hocks IMO are usually the first to show sore-BUT the stifles could also be an issue-I have known horses that need both injected for longer lasting effectiveness.  Barefoot trims OR shoes whichever you choose-if the foot is poor it will result in a poor mover....just trying to rattle your cage with some ideas.  Hope you get things figured out.

Sorry my orginal post was just more of a vent.

Actually changed shoers a few months prior to him running his best to this guru guy from outta state that does some of the top horses in the East.  So I think feet are good, but you never know.  I like his angles and feet don't appear to be the problem.  He has been treated for ulcers in the past because when I first bought him he showed synmptoms bad (gate refusal, rearing...all resulting from strained suspensory and hock problems that we injected for)  and i've had him on management ever since for them.  I wanted stifles and SI's looked at along with the spine but thats not what I got.

Spoke on the phone with my old faithful vet and we are gonna see how he does this weekend after having the coffin injected and if he is still not working then we will inject hocks and maybe stifles.  He too says he sees him as not 100%.

I'm still angry about the whole situation I feel like writing a strongly worded email or leaving a bad facebook review but I guess I'll just sit on my hands and never spend my money with them again.
