I have 2 fillies eligible for the AQHA Ranch Heritage progam. I am waffling around in paying them in or not. I realize this is a fairly new program but wanted to gauge what the interest is out there. I will be keeping one of these fillies for sure and may be selling one
(both coming two year olds and are going to the trainers in the spring
).
Any thoughts on this program and if it would be a good thing to see on a potential prospects papers?

This appears to me to be for older youth or another division for ranch horse breeders. I guess if you are selling your horse to a youth for ranch horse competitions it might be feasible. For barrel racing, not so much.

Don't know anything about Ranching Heritage, but I like Teaks Brylee n would take her off your hands!!!
ETA: After looking closer, the pedigree isn't right on the bottom side bottom, someone didn't enter it correctly in allbreed!

Good eye, I didn't notice that. Great Grand dam should be DVA Miss Peppy. I fixed it, wrong grandam was checked. This filly is a TANK..should make a head horse no problem...not sure about barrels. Time will tell. :
)
I am excited to see how these two break out in the spring. I can see how for barrels it wouldn't be any kind of draw. These fillies would be combination rodeo/ranch horses if they stay here. All their pasture mates either run barrels, rope or do both. The heritage challenge is really new, and geared towards working ranch horses. This answered my question..if I pay anyone in on it, it will be one that I plan on showing in those classes. Thanks!

I am really wishing this program wasn't so new...ugh... decisions. If my deadline wasn't December 31st I wouldn't feel so pressured. :
) I would love to be able to wait to see how the girls come home after 60 days to make my final decision.
