5yo not finished, well broke easy to be around, just too much horse for rider. https://youtu.be/wpZHIyZee5c https://youtu.be/JRWSjBGleb4... $7500. Getting absolutely no calls and i was wondering why, opinions welcomed

Sorry I couldn't even watch the video. The bouncing around of the camera and the horse coming in and out of focus made me dizzy. My guess is I'm not the only one. He may be perfect but that video certainly won't help you sell him. I got about three minutes in and had to stop.

Make some new videos in nicer lighting and you may get some better responses.

Personally, I hate to you see you sell the horse. I don't think he is too much horse for you. I did not post on your other post because I figured you wouldn't want to listen. This horse is not broke and has been brought along way too fast. Get someone to get the horse really broke then start him over on the barrels. Find a clinic near you that emphasizes horsemanship. I have been riding way over 50 years and I just went to a clinic to build confidence. We all need a clinic once in a while. It does help. Maybe a saddle that has a different size seat, shorten stirrups. Several human factors there that could change. It is very hard to learn to ride on a young horse. One that has been there done that is much better however a lot of people learn on young horses. I used to train my own horses but send all of them to a trainer now. I just don't have time. You don't know how it feels to be able to get on and know your horse is going to make a perfect run and you can work on your riding. Posted from my phone so may have errors

I skimmed through the videos, I didn't see any competition runs.

From the videos on this post, yes I would say he is overpriced, he missed the futurity year, for his age, I don't believe he can be marketed for a kid.

Honestly 2500-3500 is what I would guess. If there is more info, stats, pedigree, you may be able to get a little more

I have the same opinion as the above two posters pertaining to the video quality and overall broke-ness of the horse. In my opinion, paint horses don't have the market that quarter horses do. They don't seem to be able to sell for those higher prices.

I just bought an 8 year old mare who was broke, ridden on the trails, mounted shooting, and very lightly started on the barrels for 2k under your asking price.

Hello Moman: Very nice and well bred paint and looks like he
is 16HH or over ..
Looking at his pedigree he has <2% paint bloodlines starting way back
in the 7th generation with SOFT MUSIC ... which is astounding
anyway you look at it ... take a look ... his sire is qh and his dams
sire Royal Quick Flash is a crop out qh that is double registered ..
now pickup on the paint line back to Soft Music .. you will see
every sire is a qh starting with Easy Jet .. Soft Music is the blue
hen dam to the strongest paint lines ever ever!!

JL LACIS BOW
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/jl+lacis+bow

I think you are trying to sell him to the wrong crowd.... his way of
going tells me he is a straight line athlete and needs to be sold
to some paint horse English eventer. His long stride is very smooth
and his head carry is perfect for a jumper eventer!!

You are tall like I am and the short skirt on your barrel saddle makes
you look cramped and these ladies are not used to seeing a long
legged guy running barrels ... most of the guys are shorter and
almost skinny little guys similar to lady barrel racers ..... lol ...
Your stature is eye boggling to them ..

The reason your video got the remarks it did .. is because it is crappy
and not thought out as a sales presentation video ... and the horse
does not have the conformation for a barrel horse so he is too big
and straight lined to make the turns ... so you get the resistance we
see in the video...

I watched the 6 by 6 video in the enclosed arena.. you have soft hands
and a good seat ... almost English in style ..

Slow work this paint as you were doing with 6x6 and have a set routine
to video ... left and right full arena and then half arena circles on correct
leads, smooth 5 step backups, smooth left and right side passes, two
tracking down the arena and once he is smooth ...
Hide the barrels and dress him up in English riding gear and have a girl
English eventer ride him in the video ... and demo him for any buyers that come
to look at him ...

this is the video 6x6 to base your new paint horse video ... and in an outside
arena you put him thru a few poles and he was switching leads perfectly ..
you might add this to the video ... just straight thru the poles coming off of
a full arena circle ... do not run the pole pattern ... show his lead changes
in a smooth manner ..

When I first saw your video I thought of this famous paint stallion
and his get ... SACRED INDIAN ... when you compare your horses
pedigree with SI ... keep in mind that Cherokee Arrow TB is a full
brother to Hempen .. lots of shared kinfolks
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/sacred+indian

Google around your area and find some English trainers to fine a
paint trainer and let them know what you have and do future
ads as a potential English eventer ... 5 years old is when they
are perfect to start jumping training

GOOD LUCK ... I think the English eventers will love the rare
paint you have!!

I like him a lot.  He looks like my kind of horse, with his long stride.  I agree, that the video is a big turn off and he probably is too high for where he is in his training.  I wish I could consider him!

Good videos and high quality pictures are what sell horses on the internet. Even if he is green, an exhibition at a jackpot video would be better than your home arena. IMO it's okay to have those so you can see him loping, stopping, turning around, etc but I think at a price over $5k, a quality video of an exhibition at an event would be very helpful.

I have a 7 year old bully bullion, toast to dash bred gelding that has ran anywhere from .3 to .7 off pro rodeo horses and he's not even in great shape.  He knows poles too!!  My friend's dad wants him for his daughter but thinks 10,000 is too much....HA!

To answer your question; yes he is.                      BUT...
I don't think he is finished enough to bring that dollar. He is a leggy boy and you need to be sure he can handle the smaller pens. Could you look at other styles to market him as well if you are comfortable. I don't think you need to.  He looks comfortable with the barrels. There are many taller barrel horses.  He seems like he is put together pretty tight and he can collect up.
As far as being a colored paint; it does get a little harder.  If they are a good barrel horse I don't care if they look like rainbow bright!  Many people do care.  There are many solid paints that are out there and they will get looked at before color does.
If you want that price I think he needs to be finished.  No matter what breed he is.  The only ones that will bring that, if they are not finished, are the top elite lines.

The Cherokee Indian paint line is one of the great paint lines.  He produced some incredible barrel horses, as well as all-arounds, eventers and hunter jumpers.  (I showed againist Sacred Indian at the APHA World.)  I own a son of Cherokee Indian.

Personally, I think he is over priced. I agree you need better videos and he looks like he needs to have a little more foundation, IMO. But then again, what do I know I can't sell my 10 year gelding either. Best of luck! I do love me some paints!!
